Faces of Evansville 2019

Page 1

It is not the place that makes a community — it is the people. The growing arts and entertainment districts, expanding restaurant scene, cultural and educational institutions, range of companies and industries, nonprofits for almost every cause, and sunsets over the Ohio River don’t hurt. However, Evansville’s success is the product of its community members. It is our pleasure to introduce you to these people — the Faces of Evansville.

ENGAGEMENT RINGS AND DIAMONDS

If you are involved with a nonprofit in the greater Evansville area, chances are you’ve been impacted by The Diamond Galleria. Locally owned, Bert Wheat and his late wife Tyna Wheat opened The Diamond Galleria in 2013 with a specific goal in mind — to create a jewelry shopping experience unlike any other and to make an impact on the Evansville community. There is a reason why The Diamond Galleria is the Tri-State’s top-rated jeweler on Google, as shown by more than 300 five-star reviews.

They have spent countless hours and efforts to benefit numerous charity organizations as well as many local animal shelters and rescues. Lux Motors is many things, but most of all, it is a family. Lux Motors does not want to sell you a vehicle. They want to sell you all your vehicles. When you find yourself in the market for a vehicle, they want to be the only dealership that comes to mind. 3030 N. GREEN RIVER ROAD

Mike McCutchan, owner, SUV Limousine and Select Chauffeured Transportation

Select Chauffeured Transportation Select Chauffeured Transportation provides professional, courteous, and reliable transportation for corporations, businesses, and private individuals. Managed and driven by Rick Allen, a long-time resident of the area and graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, a large portion of the business is trips to and from the airport and door-to-door service for special events. The staff and their clients keep inventing new uses for the fleet. “We have seen an increase in transportation to and from medical appointments both locally and out of town as well as corporate usage in place of a rental,” says Allen. “By allowing Select to do the driving, our clients can catch up on emails, texts, and voicemails; touch base with the family; or just take a moment to relax.” 1406 N. WOMEN’S FASHION

Mainstream Boutique Twin sisters Amy Neighbors and Angie Braddam found the perfect fit with Mainstream Boutique. They really enjoy working with women of the Tri-State and helping them to find their perfect outfit. The great part is women can come in a shop with their mothers and daughters. Searching for employment after graduating from Oakland City University, Amy and Angie discovered the chance to open a franchise of Mainstream Boutique — a clothing store that empowers women through fashion. Because both women are shy, they understand that finding the perfect outfit can boost confidence. Mainstream’s styles, selection, and Mac & Me line exclusive were the cherry on top of a great opportunity. Since opening in April, Mainstream Boutique has been providing fashion-forward women in Evansville with unique products and great quality. Find your fit at Mainstream Boutique. 6401 E.
