Dene was a good person who had high expectations, in life and of others. Dene tried to live by the motto “Dont rely on others when you can get it done yourself”. Dene was a proud New Zealander but preferred to live in Europe. Dene loved travel and holidays especially when the accomodation was special and the food excellent. Dene loved the camera on her iphone but was pleased to have lived and travelled during a time when mobile phones didn’t exsist. Dene was a person who liked challenges. She always said she’d rather not be that type of person but created and accepted them anyway. Dene loved change and freedom but was always committed. Dene lived by her mums words “No such thing as can’t”. Dene lived by her dads words “You are along time dead”. Dene was enthusiastic but easilly bored- some would say she was driven. She enjoyed interesting people and those who were passionate and skilled. Dene often talked too much. Dene enjoyed talking nonsense sometimes. Dene Valued Honesty. Dene hated being ripped off and made sure she did her research before setting off anywhere new- because she could never disquise her dissapointment easy. Dene loved fleamarkets. Dene hated paperwork.
Dene loved finding and listening to new music. She wanted to keep up with the now and future, but still cherished the past. Dene liked to sing out loud but only rememered a few lines of each song. Dene loved a good tv series. Dene was once a PE teacher a garden designer and a cafe owner. Dene could bake a great scone and make a decent espresso. Dene loved stereotyping and generalising often just to provoke and especially enjoyed conversation with those she could banter and rave too. Dene loved a good laugh. Dene always tried her best and was always very self critical. She stuggled with compliments and said too much when she should have said “Thank-you kindly�. Dene felt very alive and happy boogie-boarding in big surf and going on cycling tours. Dene learned skiing at 45 years old and sometimes hated it but at more times loved it. Dene Loved her family with a critical eye but proud feeling. Dene never wanted to look back and regret the things she didnt do. Dene really enjoyed seeing her children develop. She loved being apart of their lives. Dene loved her husband, Ralf. Dene didnt want to die, she wanted to keep going. -Dene Hohwieler
