LESSON NUMBER: 1 SPECIFIC TOPIC: Types of Soil

INSTRUCTIONAL GOAL: Cognitive: Understands, comprehends and identifies types of soil. Psychomotor: Describes, experiments and applies the lesson content in a real experience. Affective: Participates and shares with the information provided about the topic including the experiment made in class. PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Understands, identifies and analyzes the types of soil and their functions while experimenting and interacting real life situations. RATIONALE: Students needs to know the importance and main functions about the different types of soil. LESSON CONTENT: Types of Soil INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES TIME a. Focusing event: 5 The teacher will to ask the children to write everything they know about kinds of soil in five minutes. The class shares and makes a class chart. Teacher shows two pictures about two girls to students and teacher pastes it on the board. 8 Students describe the pictures using adjectives. Teacher writes adjectives that students mention on the board. b.

Teaching procedures: Teacher defines and explains different kinds of adjectives used in English. Students tell and share the differences they can see in the pictures and discusses about it with a partner working in groups of three. Teacher explains how they can write comparative form of the adjectives with the differences they could see in the pictures. Teacher writes sentences using comparative form. Teacher pastes another picture about the two girls and students mention the differences about it. Teacher explains what is the superlative form and how can they write it. Teacher writes sentences using superlative form of the same sentence used before. Formative check: Teacher pastes two more pictures about a boy and students describe them using the comparative form. Teacher pastes another picture about a boy and student mentions how they can form the superlative form, and what will be the correct sentence of it. Completes an exercise about comparative and superlative adjectives on their notebook with some pictures teacher pastes on the board. Student Participation: Students read their sentences using and then, they write on the board it. Teacher reads a short paragraph they have on their book using comparative and superlative form and student identifies them.

Closure: Completes exercises on their notebook, and afterwards they answer an exercise on their workbook about comparative and superlative. Teacher writes a short list with adjectives every class. Plays a hot-potato game and student who has the ball mention what we can write the comparative and superlative form of some adjectives teacher writes on the board. EVALUATION PROCEDURES: Exercises on the workbook, notebook. MATERIAL AND AIDS: Blackboard, Markers, Book, Notebook, ball and workbook. Grade: 9th. e.
