Almaga Almagated character revealing each individual units of space, a contrast to the neighbouring counterparts of singular and continuous whole that internally and cencealingly housing mutiple units of space. By breaking up into multiple units of spaces, the heaviness of the overall building is reduced and create a melting pot preception of richful culture and crafts . My original impression of the urban wall of Jalan Stensen 1 was generally reserved, introverted and defensive. The opening up the building allows people in the town aware of the activities inside and communicates new functions to passers-by.

Interior void increase transparency between first and ground floors, though the reading and study areas are not visible, making them secluded. The skywell overhead gives a sense of time passage. The high permeability at ground floor and extension of park space towards indoors, blur the boundary between building and adjacent park, creating spatial continuity as a whole.

Orthogonal arrangement setting up solid-and-void grouping. The centre courtyard creates an inner public space that is "walled in", meanwhile visual penetration and spatial interconenction with urban streets are achieved through the porous architecture combining of boxes and on stilts to raise it off-ground. This typology of inner public realm provides different users' experience contrasts to the vast open public space of the nearby Dataran Merdeka.
