Why fluid resistance? Fluid resistance provides the most realistic replication of outdoor riding. It’s simple with fluid: Want to spin to warm up? Put it in an easy gear and spin. Ready to work hard? Simply pedal harder and resistance increases. Doing an interval workout? Change gears and pick up the tempo—resistance meets you exactly like on the road. There’s no need to turn a dial on the trainer to go harder. Just like outside, when you ride faster—it’s harder to pedal. This translates to better training and more power in your legs.
What is fluid resistance? Resistance is created by turning a blade inside a container of fluid. It is stable and quiet and with our patented leakproof system and heavyweight flywheel it matches the resistance of riding on the road better than any other trainer.
Kinetic Trainers Why use medical-grade silicone? Heat is a trainer’s enemy. When some trainers heat up the resistance level can decrease dramatically. Kinetic uses thermodynamically neutral medical-grade silicone inside our fluid resistance units. It’s not affected by temperature so the resistance curve remains the same throughout a workout. Kinetic also uses 80 cooling fins on the outside of the resistance unit to provide the lowest operating temperature of any fluid trainer. Unlike other trainer brands, there is NO resistance fade at the end of a workout.
Power calibration and consistency Precision manufacturing makes each Kinetic fluid resistance unit accurate and consistent. Kinetic has fined tuned the exact amount of silicone needed to replicate the resistance curve of an outdoor ride. Our precise power calibration mimics the resistance of riding on a 1% grade road.
Repeatable, measurable power Precise power calibration, superior heat management and precision manufacturing give Kinetic the ability to accurately measure power output based on the RPMs of the resistance unit. This ensures consistent resistance from workout to workout and year to year. Kinetic’s repeatable power curve and precise calibration also allow us to measure power based on the speed of the roller with the Kinetic inRide Watt Meter for power-based training at a fraction of the cost of other systems.

KINETIC trainer ACCESSORIES inRIDE WATT METER The Kinetic inRide is our next-generation power computer. The system uses the new Bluetooth Smart™ communication protocol found in the Apple iPhone 4S & 5 and iPad 3 and iPod Touch 5 to pair a heart rate monitor and power sensor pod with the Kinetic inRide iPhone App to measure wattage with any Kinetic fluid trainer. Our incredibly accurate fluid trainer power curve allows precise wattage readings at exact speeds as measured indoors on a Kinetic fluid trainer. Firmware in the inRide Sensor Pod measures speed and cadence at the tire and translates speed data to wattage with a simple equation. Power and heart rate is displayed on the paired iPhone. Post-workout file sharing allows you to upload training data to your favorite web site or email files to a remote coach.
