This simplicity is not only represented by our logo, it is the common denominator for our whole design language and is visible on all touchpoints, starting with the polygonal shapes of our headquarter office.
Based on the intuition of the Eagle and the passion of athletes and alpinists around the world we created a new and iconic brand appearance.
These polygons serve as a central theme for our whole visual communication and also help create a unique signature look everywhere.
A sharp character, centered asymmetry and timeless simplicity are the key elements of our SALEWA DNA. These genes are symbolized by the iconic Eagle and the acronym SALEWA.
They are a simple but sophisticated design element intended to create a cohesive and unique look and feel for SALEWA, even in our moving images. Follow the QR-code to experience our new brand movie.
The angular icon and edged logotype stand for alpinism and ensure a high level of recognition and unique identity. It will be recognized and remembered worldwide.

Our trade and retail interior and POS design work together to embody the brand`s character and to communicate SALEWA`s spirit. It is based on space efficiency to ensure an inspiring brand experience. Our modular system is able to adapt to (nearly) every room situation at POP. The system works as a commitment to our user expectations for premium mountain sport products and to embody our premium brand positioning.

SALEWA is cooperating with BMW to offer outdoor enthusiasts the chance to experience the mountains in a new way: depending on their abilities and experience, a SALEWA athlete takes them to a spectacular location in the Alps where they can experience a night in a tent under a starry sky. The first prize will be a trip to Australia and an ascent of Mount Kosciuszko, the highest mountain on the Australian continent and one of the Seven Summits. TOURISM AUSTRALIA
BMW supports this experience by providing a new car for transport to and from the locations and also communicates this topic on their own social media sites.

For the 2015 and 2017 edition, SALEWA is the official clothing sponsor of the Red Bull X-Alps. The race starts in Salzburg and crosses through Germany, Italy, Switzerland and France on the way to Monaco. All 32 athletes, 64 supporters and 50 staff members will be using SALEWA gear, especially items of the newly launched Speed Hiking collection: the Speed Ascent shoe & the Pedroc Jacket.

The urban boom of climbing halls is all around the world. Sports climbing is more than a Outdoor Sport = Urban Lifestyle. Over 25 Million people climb on a regular basis and in average 3.000 start climbing daily (IFSC 2012). The evolving young spirit of mountaineering is based on a digital connected, urban inspired target group, that is taking its first vertical experience in climbing halls – sports climbing. Many of these also move outside to the rocks and to higher walls. This is a new user for our business of today and of tomorrow. Rockshow 2015 – Do you dare to take a new challenge? Fair Wear Foundation
At SALEWA, we want our production and products to have a minimal impact both on people and the environment. Being a bluesign® system partner since 2011 helps us to produce in an environmentally friendly and resource-efficient way. Harmful substances are not only excluded in the end product, but are eliminated right from the beginning of the manufacturing process. This means health and safety for the workers, responsible use of resources, improved air emissions and waste water and a reduced ecological footprint. Textiles fulfilling these strict criteria are labeled “bluesign® approved fabric”. To consumers our application of the bluesign® system guarantees a clean and safely manufactured product.
To actively support better working conditions for people along our supply chain, SALEWA is a member of Fair Wear Foundation, an independent, non-profit organization that works with companies and factories to improve the labour situation in the factories. SHERPA WOMAN What’s next: In November 2014, the next chapter of the „Sherpa Women“ project will commence, this time also involving a cultural exchange. Alongside selected Nepalese participants, 5 European women will be participating in a sponsored 3-week trekking program in Nepal from 14 November through December 7 with the goal of reaching the Annapurna Sanctuary (4200 meters) in the Annapurna Himal massif. The ultimate goal is to climb Tarpu Chuli (Tent Peak, 5600 meters), a smaller peak located in the middle of the Sanctuary, in alpine style. Mountain guide Paulo Grobel is the project manager on-site.

Scope: The project has a long-term goal of empowering women in Nepal to stand on their own feet by taking on active roles in trekking tourism and mountain sports. In collaboration with a network of international and local partners, we want to set standards for the training of female mountain guide/trekking guides in Nepal. In 2016, the project will continue with additional training in trekking.
