Korres
From the beginning....
George
Korres,
Started his story in Pharmacy school at the university of Athens. Whilst a student he worked at Greece’s oldest homeopathic pharmacy; eventually going on to buy the pharmacy and beginning the journey to KORRES. George set up a homeopathic remedy production lab during the next five years. Korres’ deep understanding of natural ingredients and their application enabled him to create Korres Natural Products, with his desire to utilize valuable, clinically efficacious, endemic Greek herbs.
Lena Korres,
a chemical engineer joined Korres in 1996. Lena played a huge role in positioning and launching Korres, from the birth of the brand onwards. From being Athens first ever homeopathic pharmacy. Lena has moved around Korres, and is currently under the title of Brand Development Director. Lena’s greatest ‘beauty’ achievement at Korres to date, was the development of the KORRES Yoghurt skincare line.
The Korres Pharmacy, the Tzivanides pharmacy was opened in the mid 60s becoming Greece’s first homeopathic pharmacy. Through George Korres’ work with Mr Tzivanides, and his passion and understanding of herbs he was driven to develop a natural skincare line. Korres was trusted with the management of the pharmacy in 1992. His quest for natural herbal remedies began, and KORRES was born. 7
Philosophy Korres’ Philosophy is rooted in the use of natural and certified organic ingrediants of the highest quality Skinand enviromentally- friendly products with clinically tested efficacy; products that are affordable for everyday use yet of interesting aesthetics that can ‘Inspire and Make us happy’ Homeopathy was the starting point; inspired by its ‘Mild yet effective approach’ yet focusing on nature as the ultimate provider.

Our Voice We want to use our voice to spread our message of KORRES around the globe. We have a big heart and the importance of our ingredients and cooperations we work alongside is huge. Our aim is not to compete, but support the farmers and their unions. Our choice not to cultivate ourselves the herbs that we need, is a conscious one. We want to teach our partners organic farming and sustainable agricultural systems.
9
Naxos Island The inspiration for the first ever KORRES product. The biggest and most fertile Cyclades island in the Aegean, known as the hiding place for Zeus, the God of Sky and Thunder, till he reached manhood; also known as the island Theseus abandoned princess Ariadne on, after killing the Minotaur. Most Importantly, the first KORRES product, an aromatic syrup with honey and aniseed, was inspired by ‘Rakomelo’, a warming spirit which his grandfather Giorgos Korres used to make in his village, Skado of Naxos Island.

Rakokazano
Rakokazano is an identifiable emblem seen on KORRES packaging. The KORRES Rakokazano story begins in the middle of the 19th century with George Korres great great grandfather, eventually passing down from generation to generation ending up in the hands of his grandfather, the last to honour the family tradition of Raki distilling. The ‘Kettle’ that is identifiable on KORRES packaging was used to distill the Raki.

Aesthetics Design is one of our few obsessions; our team is passionate about aesthetics, materials and craftsmanship. We are attentive to the smallest of details and wish to create visually the values of KORRES. The brands homeopathy heritage inspires the store layouts and packaging. The Pharmacy look narrates our ethos and our deep understanding of ingredients. The store look focuses on colours and materials reminiscent of the past, yet done with a contemporary twist.
16
17
Colours White and dark brown have been selected as the primary colours as they are reminiscent of lab and pharmacy environments. Ultimately KORRES wants to express the brands trademark concept based on contrasts; industrial yet scientific, minimal yet maximal, wood and metal, white and dark.
