The main driver of this project originated from a goal to PROG RAMS make the neighborhood easily accessible from all of the R H I N O A D O B E I L L U S T R A T O R nearby parks and bike trails. A D O B E

P H OT O S H O P

Copenhagen already has a really great bike trail that links a series of urban parks, but the trail ends abruptly at the corner of the site. T h e g o a l fo r t h i s p r o j e c t w a s t o connect the greenway bike trail through the site and into the C openhagen suburbs, creating an inviting and walkable neighborhood.

I wanted to map the city of Bend in a more accessible way. By drawing the map in perspective it relates more to personal experiences and physical conditions than a c onventi onal map would. This proc ess gave me the tools to recognize the unique characteristic of Bend as a nomadic, technology driven, and outdoorsy town.

People like to inhabit edges in public spaces. It gives them a plac e to sit, stand, walk, play, or relax alone or with a group. The circle was the module that I c h o s e fo r t h i s d e s i g n b e c au s e a circle has infinite edges. By pushing and pulling the topography of a circle, a wide range of spatial conditions occur which invite a more diverse and colorful crowd into the public space. By becoming more inviting, the outdoor space becomes safer and the neighborhood thrives.
