PLUMBING CHAMPIONS FRANKFURT

In March our very own Jamie Bermingham travelled over to Germany to take part in a 5-day “Plumbing Champions” event in Frankfurt working alongside up to 10 different nationalities from across the world.

Jamie is not shy of the spotlight having recently been awarded the winners medal at the WorldSkills Ireland Plumbing and Heating Final at the end of 2022.

At Jones Engineering, we are committed to conducting business in a responsible manner, playing an active role within our communities, and creating value in the areas we work. We strive to make a difference by fostering the next generation of talent, sponsoring organisations and supporting charities through company and employee efforts.

Carlow

During our planting day in Carlow we visited three schools, a special needs facility and community gardens near our Manufacturing facility. With the help of 70 enthusiastic children from junior infants to sixth class, we planted 10 trees at Gaelscoil Eoghain Uí Thuairisc in Carlow town, 5 trees at St Brigid’s and 10 trees at Queen of the Universe National School in Bagenalstown. We also visited BEAM Services, a training and services centre for adults with special needs in the Carlow area, leaving another fruitful orchard behind.

It was so rewarding to see the joy the planting day brought to both the school children and BEAM Services’ members who were delighted to say they had helped plant over 50 trees and choose creative names for them! We also donated an orchard to the new Bagenalstown Community Garden being created by Bagenalstown Improvement Group. This new community garden will improve wellbeing by servicing thousands of people in the local area.

Since the opening of Jones Engineering Manufacturing Facility in Carlow in 2019 we have created hundreds of jobs and introduced modular construction to the small town of Bagenalstown. We are delighted to give something back to the local community to help increase wellbeing and provide support in the area where we work.

Roscommon

We have worked on several large pharmaceutical projects in both the west of Ireland and the midlands and have recently been named Mechanical and Electrical contractor on the new Limerick Hospital. We allocated several orchards to the local community in Roscommon and over 30 students from both fifth and sixth class participated in our planting day at Lisaniskey National School, leaving behind positive feedback and an expert group of energetic young tree planters!

“We really appreciate what Jones Engineering has done in giving orchards to our facility and providing a fun planting day for our members. It is thanks to generous local companies that we can run facilities like these.” John Murphy, BEAM Services.
