An Urban Village Mill Hill was once a staging post on the Great North Road heading to Scotland. Today the village is very much part of the bustling London metropolis, although the hilltop has retained a timeless rural charm.

Mill Hill village stretches along a medieval hilltop ridgeway, drawing its name from a windmill that once stood here. Although the mill has now gone, the village is lined with stunning period buildings that stand testament to the area’s history. Mill Hill’s proximity to the city made it a popular country retreat during the 17th century, and in recent years it has become internationally famous for its collection of world class schools. At the bottom of the hill, the Broadway is a busy, cosmopolitan area packed with banks, butchers and barbers, florists, fashion shops and food stores. You can find most everyday items right here in your local high street. The area also offers a good selection of cafes and restaurants serving an excellent choice of cuisine from around the world including Middle Eastern, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Kosher. Notably The Good Earth and The Rising Sun are both worth a visit.

Well Connected Mill Hill is one of the main entry points into the capital and benefits from excellent road connections, nearby overground and tube stations and a wide choice of local buses.

The Northern Line tube from Mill Hill East or Edgeware offers convenient routes to the West End or The City. From 2019 you’ll be able to connect easily to the new Elizabeth Line at Tottenham Court Road, giving quick access to Heathrow, Stratford and beyond. By road, the nearby A406 (North Circular) links to other parts of London, while the M1 and A1 take you out to home counties and the North. With four international airports within a 45 minute drive, Twin Peaks is ideal for high flyers who travel for business or those who like to escape at weekends.

Open Spaces There is no shortage of beautiful open spaces to explore in the area. Take a stroll through an enchanted wood, follow a meandering brook or lose yourself in a landscape of wild flowers.

Twin Peaks is surrounded by green spaces. For a short evening stroll, walk up to Moat Mount woods and across to The Mill Field to enjoy far reaching views across west London at sunset. Or take a longer hike through Mill Hill Park and Arrandene Open Space before cutting across Copthall Playing Fields to join the Dollis Valley trail, following its meandering brook down to the vast expanse of water at the Brent Reservoir. Further afield is the romantic Pergola and petting zoo in Golders Hill Park, the famous bathing ponds on Hampstead Heath, or at Alexandra Palace you can enjoy the spectacular skyline view, a deer park and boating lake.

Fitness & Recreation You will find plenty of local facilities to exercise both the body and mind.

The local area boasts numerous golf courses, cricket clubs, gyms, sailing clubs, swimming pools, an ice rink and athletics tracks. For those with a thirst for adventure there is even a local Aerodrome offering flying lessons to complete beginners. If you prefer to exercise your mind, regular exhibitions, cultural events and films at the Arts Depot, Phoenix Cinema and Alexandra Palace should give you plenty of food for thought. For family activities try the Hendon Air Museum, Belmont Farm or catch one of the monthly events at the local UCL Observatory.

Growing futures Mill Hill School has been inspiring and educating pupils for over 200 years, giving every generation that passes through its gates with aspirations as high as the hill itself.

Mill Hill School was established in 1807 and located outside the boundary of London to protect the young from “the physical and moral dangers of the crowded and corrupt city”. London has of course cleaned-up its streets and its reputation over the past 200 years, yet Mill Hill remains an attractive and safe place for learning. Today the school is internationally renowned and educates children of all ages, across its four sites; Grimsdell, Belmont, Mill Hill School and The Mount International.
