Samurai outfits and armour from different eras and origins form the inspiration for this quick project. Metallic armour parts such as
breastplates and ribbed shoulder
pieces are used as the stiff parts in feminine outfits. These are decorated with leather and metallic connections. Armour buffers and little helmets are
head accessories . Finally, armour boots become over the knee sandals.

3D DRESS This short project focuses on the
design process
of the dress rather than the final outcome.
SS 2018
Curvy forms inspired by architecture and light fabrics resembling elegant gowns, are designed in paper and then in 3D software . Having the dress in 3D format generates automatically the patterns which will be used to manufacture the clothing.

These lines form the top, middle & bottom part of the corset.
These curves shape the basis for the pleats.
The 2D curves are projected on the mannequin. Those curves are scaled up and extruded in order to for the final 3D curves for the pleats.
The 3D curves are lofted creating the final pleats.
Light fabric is added on the top and bottom part of the dress.

When the plaster solidifies, it forms the mold for casting the metal. The plaster mold is then put in an oven and heated for several hours to the point where the wax is completely burned out. The melted metal is poured into the mold which breaks when cold, reviling the final jewel. AW 2 0 1 7
