THE CONGRESS The congress, due to the presence of internationally renowned speakers and to the variety of subjects of the scientific program, will be a unique educational opportunity for equine practitioners from all nations. The XIX Congress will provide an allround scientific programme with 3 parallel tiers of lectures including topics on orthopaedics, surgery, internal and sport medicine, reproduction and practice management. The program will also include discussion time, free communications, poster session. The Italian Association of Equine Veterinarians (SIVE Società Italiana Veterinari per Equini) invites authors to submit scientific abstracts for oral presentations of short communications. Papers relating to the most recent studies in clinical and research aspects of Equine Medicine and Surgery will be taken into consideration and texts of practical-applicable type will be particularly appreciated. For abstract submission please go to the ABSTRACT SUBMISSION CENTRE at web site http://abstract.evsrl.it/. The system will follow you while filling the fields. To access to the ABSTRACT SUBMISSION CENTRE it is necessary to get a user name and a password for the EGO System. Should you do not get user name and password please go to EGO Home Page at http://ego.evsrl.it/. Username and password will be sent in 24 hours. The ABSTRACT SUBMISSION CENTRE will follow you while filling the following fields: 1. WORK/ABSTRACT TYPE 2. TITLE Title of work must be in CAPITAL LETTER, maximum length 180 characters including spaces 3. SUBJECT 4. ADDRESS FOR CORRESPONDENCE 5. AUTHORS 6. TEXT AND BIBLIOGRAPHY Maximum 5400 characters including spaces (unbreakable). Graphs, images, tables and photos will not be published. SUBDIVISION IN CHAPTERS Works must refer to the subject-matter of the Symposium. The original work must be subdivided into the following chapters: objectives, materials, methods, results and conclusion. The clinical cases must be subdivided intot the following chapters: introduction, case description and discussion. The statement “results will be discussed” is not acceptable. Abstracts that do not respect these guidelines will not be accepted.

ETHICAL STANDARDS The abstract must be based on ethical principles. Therefore it should be avoided as far as possible the experimental procedures and unecessary suffering on animals. Works that don’t respect such ethical principles are automatically rejected. CONGRESS REGISTRATION THE AUTHOR/SPEAKER OF AN ACCEPTED WORK WILL RECEIVE A FREE FULL REGISTRATION. (Registration at the Congress, Pre-registered sector) DEADLINES Works must be sent before the deadline of OCTOBER 26th, 2012. COMMUNICATIONS TO THE AUTHORS Abstracts will be evaluated and authors definitely informed by NOVEMBER 20th, 2012 by e-mail. LANGUAGE AND TIME OF RELATING The oral presentation of the abstract can be made in English or in Italian (simultaneous translation will be provided). TWELVE (12) minutes will be given for oral presentations and THREE (3) minutes will be given for discussion and questions. POSTER Posters will be considered in case of exceeding accepted works presented as short com. The surface area for Posters is 1.3 meters high x 0.8 meter wide. At the top of the poster, the title, author(s) and affiliation(s) should be printed in letters at least 5 cm high. The body of the poster should be readable from a distance of at least one meter. Posters should be placed on the Boards with Velcro (provided by the organisation). Where possible Results should be presented graphically. Posters should be put up on the first morning of the conference and will be exhibited for its duration. Special times for discussion of posters will be indicated on the final scientific programme.
