Formerly: Ptuj Monastery Location: Ptuj, Slovenia Year built: Gothic N/A Year converted into performance center: 2013 Original Architect: N/A Redesign Architect: ENOTA
The Gothic structure has been reused many times throughout its history, it has been a church, a hospital and a museum. Its newest transformation is a performance center ,but it also functions as a church. The historic elements of the main hall are whitewashed, and the insertion of stair, seating and stage is painted black. This also represents a nod to the Dominican origins of the place. The project reveals and celebrates its Gothic, Medieval and Baroque elements, in original state.1
