Devore Silk Scarves
Thursday 16th October Full Day 10am - 4pm
This is an exciting opportunity to explore the magical process of devore with Lorraine who has been teaching for the past 9 years.
On this workshop Susi will show you how to make a Willow Christmas Tree as a table or floor standing decoration (this is a similar process to making a small obelisk). Susi will also show you how to make a basic willow wreath that can be decorated with anything, real or fake to give your home that extra special Christmas decoration.
Whilst they cool you will be colouring the icings, modelling paste, sugar paste and royal icing and to run through the equipment and a short explanation about design. After lunch the fun begins with decorating, Father Christmas, Christmas Trees, Snowmen, Christmas Puddings to name a few. You will then gift wrap in cellophane and ribbon before placing in a presentation box/carrier ready for you to take home.
Please bring bits and pieces along to decorate your pieces, if time permitting.
The Devore technique is where the pile of the silk velvet is chemically burnt away. No artistic skills required but stunning results guaranteed.
Susi ran a workshop here in May and was a very popular tutor.
This is a great gift idea, or to make a unique fashion accessory for yourself.
