TRAINING FOR REIGNING
By CoPastor Elena Robertson
As we enter into another year, many are seeking the Lord for guidance and direction in their lives. New Year's resolutions are made, all in an effort to change an old way of living to a new and better way. A new found burst of energy is sparked to set goals and to change bad habits. For some it’s losing weight or eating healthy. For others it’s stepping out and fulfilling a dream, like opening a restaurant or writing a book. Whatever the goal, endeavors are set to go where they have never gone before or have successfully accomplished!
But, somewhere along the way, the sparks dim and the enthusiasm fades. The excitement to conqueror is displaced by fear, discouragement and weariness. The old ways begin to creep back in and before you know it, they're back in that same rut. Some, hit that brick wall of inadequacy, realizing that they are missing some key ingredients needed to succeed. Nonetheless, God desires for us to succeed in life; at whatever we put our hearts and minds to do within His plan, which is in His Kingdom. The word “kingdom” means the reign of a king and the king taking possession and territory, where he reigns. He has set us up to rule and reign with Him. His Word proclaims, “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” (Rev. 5:1 0) He has “blessed us with all spiritual blessings” and raised us up to sit with Him “in heavenly places in Christ” (Eph 1 :3, 2:6). Based on His Word, there should be no doubt that God wants us to rule and reign in the Kingdom. However, in order for us to step into this position to reign with Him, we must condition ourselves to think and be like our God, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 AMP)
For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. (1 Corinthians 2:1 6 AMP)
Jesus was able to flow in God's plan for his life because He was one with the Father. We have been trained and conditioned to think like the world thinks. Our life experiences have patterned our thoughts into mindsets that are diabolical to God’s thoughts and ways. Even if we have had what we call ‘good experiences’; they can still be opposed to God’s thoughts if they don’t align to His plans for our lives. God wants to retrain us by changing the way we think. He wants our thoughts to become His thoughts and our ways to become His ways. We must become one with the Father in our thoughts and ways. Jesus was able to flow in God’s plan for His life because He was one with the Father (John 8:23-29, John 1 4:9-1 2 and John 1 7:1 1 -23). He thought the thoughts of the Father and therefore was able to operate in the Father’s ways. Jesus abiding in the Farther, enabled him to rule and reign in the world.
In order for us to flow like Jesus and accomplish the “greater works” that he said we would do; we must receive the knowledge of God's ways and plans in His Word. And, accept them into our lives as the final authority; we must abide in His Word. By abiding in His Word we become free to be kings and priest. (John 8:31 32 AMP) It is especially important for the Word to abide in us; meaning “to stay”, “to remain” or “continue” in us. Because, depending on the measure (degree or quantity), as well as the consistency, of how we receive the Word of God, it will determine our measure of freedom that we are able to flow in the kingdom. And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. (Mark 4:24 AMP) Hoses 4:6 states, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me…” His Word is the ultimate knowledge that we must condition ourselves to abide in and receive on a daily basis, without hesitation. We must be trained in the Word. The discipline and commitment of training in His Word day and night is one of His greatest desires for us (Ps. 1 :1 , Josh. 1 :8). Then we can truly “live, move, and have our being in Him” (Acts 1 7:28).
"If you want to reign, you’ve got to be trained!” Bishop Daniel Robertson declares! We can’t step into our rightful place if we don’t position ourselves to learn and do what God has purposed for us in this earth realm. (Isaiah 1 :1 7). It is a Kingdom mandate! What must you do to position yourself to abide in the Word like never before? You can abide in His Word through setting up a daily bible reading plan and personally meditating on the Word that you read seeking revelation knowledge to operate in your life; focused not to read it as a newspaper or a “to-do list”. You can also purpose to not only hear the preached or taught Word during worship services, but to take notes with the intent to meditate on what your heard during your daily personal devotional time (quiet time) throughout the week; seeking to be a doer of the Word (Jam 1 :23-25). Books, CDs, and DVDs are also an awesome way to equip yourself to abide in the Word. As well as, attending conferences and special training, such as a Bible study/training class or Bible college. 201 6 is the year for reigning! It’s the year to reign over our finances, and reign in our households with our marriages and with our children. It’s the year to reign; over sickness, diseases, depression, stagnation, fear, doubt, unbelief … It’s our year to reign, over the kingdom of darkness and the oppression of the nations by the enemy! Let’s rule and reign together as kings and priests as we train to reign!
“If you want to reign, you’ve got to be trained!” Bishop Daniel Robertson, Jr.

WOW Human Services WOW Human Services Ministry provides assistance to those in need. Whether it is assistance with housing, clothing or food, we use all the resources at our disposal to help people and/or connect them with agencies that can assist them. It is never about a handout, but rather a hand up.
Below is a snippet ofa testimony that shows how God used the WOW Human Services Ministry to help in a time ofneed:
“The lightning struck the attic and caught the house on fire on the inside and we had no clue because there was no smoke or smell inside. I thought we lost everything, but by the grace of God, my room was the only room with loss. My bed, dresser, computer and desk were gone from the water damage. All the money I had to my name was to get my children a couple of outfits for school clothes since school started the following week. I went to Red Cross the next day and they granted me a 3-day stay in a five star hotel. God kept us. Donations came from everywhere! My children’s schools (Salem Middle School and Bird H.S) worked with me and made it so all the kids’ fees were paid, they gave us food and even had a fundraiser with clothes and money to help my children. We were gifted $600 in cash and various gift cards to eat while we were homeless. I found a bigger home in the same school district and was gifted a deposit and first month's rent from my job (only been there 4 months) and also deposit money from Mt. Gilead from the recommendation of WOW Human Services to help get my power on. This situation was very traumatic, but through the trauma all I could think of is “All is well.” I’m so blessed to have my church and have all these wonderful people/strangers help my family and me in our time of need. I can’t wait until I can bless someone else. God is so good!! I started with $290 when it happened but had a debt free move of about $3,400 with all the help received!” As you can see from this testimony, God used WOW Human Services as a liaison to our church members. We compiled, confirmed and provided information to identify and address the financial need for this family.

The Treasure Wythe Inn The Treasure Wythe Inn (TWI) had its beginnings in the heart of Co-Pastor Elena Robertson who desired to provide a hand up rather than a hand out for those who are facing life's challenges. The vision ofthe Treasure Wythe Inn is to serve as an avenue through which women and their children can discover the depth of the Word ofGod and clarity oftheir identity in Christ through the transitional home, the future domestic violence shelter, and group home.
The first TWI home (TWI-1 ) was acquired in the fall of 2007; the second home (TWI-2) in April 201 0. The entire Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries family generously supported the vision through donations as well as giving their tithes and offerings. The foundational scripture of The Treasure Wythe Inn speaks to the value that is found in everyone;
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. (2 Corinthians 4:7). Equipped with a Board of Directors and Operational Team, the leadership began to implement the vision to establish a 24 hour safe haven for women and their children. The mission is to restore relationships through Biblical principles and programs. The road to recovery and restoration begins by serving the immediate physical, spiritual, and psychological needs of the residents
. The services and programs of TWI are designed to assist both women and children in developing skills necessary to establish independent living. Following the completion of a needs assessment, a determination is made concerning the additional needs of residents including addressing the areas of spiritual development, substance abuse, victim advocacy, domestic violence counseling, anger management, and problem-solving. Residents also receive assistance in developing strong life skills, effective communication, employment training, educational advancement, and financial management. The residents of TWI are expected to maintain their residency for 6 to 1 8 months depending on the extent of their needs. As the vision continues to unfold, the Board of Directors and Operational team remain committed to supporting the visionary, Co-Pastor Elena Robertson and giving God praise for unlocking the hidden treasure in those they serve. Since inception, we praise God that the ministry has assisted over six resident families to successfully transition back into independent community living. Bold & Beautiful Tips for Maintaining Healthy & Vibrant Color Treated Hair
Women have many hairstyle choices. Some have opted to wear their unprocessed, natural tresses, while others choose to wear their hair chemically relaxed. A woman’s hairstyle is her choice! With any style, it is important that women are employing proper practices to maintain healthy hair! This is especially true for women who choose to use permanent color.
Look around at your job, church or even the local grocery store and you see it everywhere – women rocking vibrant colors in their hair! Red! Blue! Purple! Colors from almost every spectrum of the rainbow. Coloring hair can add spice to dull, sun-damaged hair or simply be a personality statement, and it is definitely trending this season.
There are various ways to color hair, and the four most common classifications of hair dyes are permanent, demi-permanent, semipermanent, and temporary. Permanent color includes the use of bleach, hydrogen peroxide and ammonium peroxide. Demi-permanent hair dye has a lower concentration of hydrogen peroxide than what is used with permanent hair color. Semi-permanents contain no, or very low levels of peroxide or ammonia. Temporary color, also called a rinse, coats the hair strands and is easily removed with a single shampooing. Remember, permanent color is the harshest of all hair dyes. Therefore, the hairstyle a woman chooses, products used, and daily hair care regimens followed should be taken into consideration for maintaining the overall health of the hair. Below are a few tips to consider to make sure permanently colored hair remains FABulous!
Be Bold! Be Beautiful!
Fol l owing these steps wil l hel p you to maintain heal thy and fabul ous col or-treated hair.
Deep Conditioning Treatments: Keep in mind that both relaxers and permanent hair dye strip the hair of its natural proteins and moisturizers, causing hair to become dry and brittle if not properly treated. Quality deep – penetrating conditioner should be used for an intense treatment at least once per month. Protein treatments are recommended as well, but they should NEVER be used directly after application of a relaxer.
Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!
Increased hair moisturizing is incredibly important after permanently coloring your hair, particularly those with natural hair. It is imperative that colored hair is moisturized regularly, or for some, such as those with natural hair, on a daily basis. Moisturize your hair by using a water-based moisturizer (or leave-in conditioner) and sealing in the moisture with an oil (i.e. coconut, olive, jojoba).
Go Easy on Weaves, Wigs, and Braids:
These are diverse and beautiful styling options, and allow you to switch up your look or hair style seemingly ‘overnight’. However, it is important that women with permanently colored hair limit the wearing of wigs, braids, sew-ins and other types of extensions. As mentioned above, it is very important to keep hair conditioned and moisturized when colored. This is nearly impossible to do with hair that is covered up. Hair styles such as roller wraps, rod sets, various up-dos and twist outs (natural hair) allow hair to be moisturized and conditioned, and are also stylish!
Add Natural Products to Your Beauty Arsenal:
These products (such as coconut oil, jojoba oil, and vegetable glycerin), contain naturally derived ingredients that promote healthy hair, while providing hair sheen, softness and manageability.
Use Demi/Semi-Permanent or Temporary Color:
These coloring options are usually safer for chemically relaxed hair, as permanent color may be too harsh for hair that has already been weakened by a relaxer. Consult a professional stylist for the best coloring options.
