Learn About the Caring 4 You Program Caring 4 You is a program designed to provide help, support and emotional first aid to Excela Health staff who may be struggling “second victims” of an adverse patient event or outcome through a team of Trained Peer Supporters. Second victims are healthcare staff who are involved in an unanticipated adverse patient event, medical error, or patient related injury and become victimized in the sense that they feel traumatized by the event. Caring 4 You is modeled after a nationally acclaimed, evidence-based program with proven success implemented by the University of Missouri Health System. Caring 4 You includes a team of staff from across the Excela Health system from a variety of locations and roles. These individuals have an interest in helping second victims and are willing to volunteer time to offer emotional first aid as the needs arise. Learn more

Excela Health Employee Referral Program Excela Health is hiring for a variety of positions. We offer a comprehensive benefit package and compensation package, tuition reimbursement/loan forgiveness opportunities and a variety of other employee friendly perks. When you refer a candidate and they mention your name as a referral either on their online application or during their interview, and if the candidate is hired and all guidelines have been met, then you will be paid out after the 6 month mark pending all qualifications are met.

How the Process Works During the application process the prospective hire will have two chances to make Excela Health aware of a referral. The first opportunity is a field in the application itself. When asked where the candidate heard about the position they can select ‘employee referral’ and input the employee name. The second opportunity is during the interview process. A recruiter will ask if the candidate was referred by a current employee. Note: There is no longer a survey for employees to fill out. If mentioned during the hiring process, then you will be paid out after the six month mark pending all qualifications are met.

Thomas P. Gessner, MD Healthcare Scholarship Applications

Lanterns of Hope Grace Hospital Lobbies Dr. Heather Walker and our marketing team devised these beautiful lanterns currently placed in each of our hospital lobbies in honor of all lives lost during the dark days of this pandemic. While we mourn those whom we have lost and work to care for those who are suffering, these lanterns remind us of the value in taking a moment to recall that:

“It is often in the darkest skies that we see the Brightest Stars. During this most special time of the year, it is difficult to reflect on the darkness of the pandemic and the toll it has taken on so many and in so many ways. Yet, during this season of light we remember that hope is the light that surrounds us and the light that dwells within us. And that only in the darkness can we see the stars”

The scholarship is awarded annually, up to $3,000, to an Excela Health employee currently enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education for one of the healthcare professions. Acceptable professions are those requiring education beyond an undergraduate degree. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is December 31, 2020. View the application here.
