Kelly Neubauer, DNP, RN, Excela Health Heart Failure Nurse Navigator, sheds some light on the top five common misconceptions about heart failure, ways to prevent early onset and control symptoms of heart failure, and when to seek medical assistance if experiencing symptoms. Read more Heart Health: What Women Don’t Know Women are less likely to recognize symptoms, understand the risks or attempt to prevent the onset of heart disease. Excela Health non-invasive cardiologist Maliha Zahid, MD, PhD, FACC, looks to help women understand these risks and is passionate about being able to not only intervene with heart conditions but being able to prevent them as well. Westmoreland Hospital Outpaitent Pharmacy Meds to Beds Program “The Meds to Beds Program at Westmoreland Hospital has been a tremendous help for our post-op heart surgical patients. With bedside delivery, the patients leave with their medications in hand. The patients and family members enjoy the convenient prescription and over-the-counter medications delivered directly to the patient before they leave the hospital. It also helps prevent medication interruptions after the patient transitions home. The program also ensures the patient has all of their required medications to help with compliance and decrease the risk of possible hospital readmissions within 30 days.” Janeen Stepinsky, RN, PA-C, MPAS, FAPACVS, Cardiothoracic Surgery Meds to Beds is a program designed to make one less stop for patients on their way home from the hospital. Excela Westmoreland Outpatient Pharmacy can fill patients’ prescriptions and deliver them to the patient’s bedside before they leave. Pharmacy staff will review medication with them to assure proper use and answer any questions. Learn more about the program here.

Excela Health Employee Referral Program Excela Health is hiring for a variety of positions. We offer a comprehensive benefit package and compensation package, tuition reimbursement/loan forgiveness opportunities and a variety of other employee friendly perks. When you refer a candidate and they mention your name as a referral either on their online application or during their interview, and if the candidate is hired and all guidelines have been met, then you will be paid out after the 6 month mark pending all qualifications are met.

How the Process Works During the application process the prospective hire will have two chances to make Excela Health aware of a referral. The first opportunity is a field in the application itself. When asked where the candidate heard about the position they can select ‘employee referral’ and input the employee name. The second opportunity is during the interview process. A recruiter will ask if the candidate was referred by a current employee. Note: There is no longer a survey for employees to fill out. If mentioned during the hiring process, then you will be paid out after the six month mark pending all qualifications are met.
