Working from Home: Cyber Security The Institute for Cyber Security has placed an alert for Alexa and Google Home devices. If you are working from home in an area where your home assistant is near by please be conscience of discussing protected health information (PHI) openly --- there have been multiple instances in the US where hackers have attached themselves to the home assistant units and use the microphone to listen to conversations and capture the PHI. Excela Health cyber security team recommends you conduct business in a room where there is no home assistant present.

Words of Encouragement To Our EMS Community “In these times of hardship and uncertainty, Excela Health wanted to take a moment to recognize all of the First Responders in our County for all of their hard work and dedication. Our hats go off to all of the EMS workers who dedicate their lives to serving others and keeping our community healthy. Keep up the great work. We assure you, it has not gone unnoticed. From our Team at Excela Health, thank you for all you have done and continue to do! We will always have your back!” Jonathon Jenkins, EMS Outreach Specialist

Our Volunteers are Eager to See You Again “Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone?” The line to Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi” resonates these days with nurses in the emergency department at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, who are without their volunteer helpers until the coronavirus stay-at-home order ends. “I have 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and those nurses are about my granddaughters’ age, so I can relate to them,” Bryer said. “We have good relationships, and I really miss them. They text and say, ‘Vic, you OK? You need anything?’” Read more

From Our Staff “Shout out to ALL of the Excela Health employees. Keep up the great work. #excelapride” Tom G “Thank you Excela Latrobe Facilities!!! You guys are awesome! Vickie J “We owe a lot to our EVS partners. They are doing a great job keeping us all safe. Thank you!” Diane M “Thank you to our wonderful volunteers!” Traci F

Thank you westmoreland hospital for all that you’ve done for us personally ..... We are home and everyone is doing well....” Bobbi H

“A great first grade homework assignment for our daughter Nora (from Mrs. Belak at Baggaley) was to make a sign of support for doctors, nurses and healthcare workers. This should cover all of our courageous men and women working hard to beat this horrible disease! She used markers and do-a-dot art sponges!” Jason T
