Fire Extinguisher Training- Registration Required Due to social distancing, registration is required for training this year. Class size will be limited, so register as soon as possible! Class is approximately 30 minutes and begins at the top of each hour. You can register through the Calendar of Events, here or e-mail the Call Center at callctr@excelahealth.org. These are the only days that will be scheduled at these locations in 2020. This mandatory education is required of all employees at least every 2 years. Virtual Safety Fairs June is right around the corner, which means so is National Safety Month! Keeping safety in mind the 2020 safety fair will take place in a virtual setting. Each Monday in June check Featured News on the Intranet for a word puzzle that you can complete and submit to Lisa Yetter (lyetter@excelahealth.org) until the following Monday to be entered into a drawing to win a gift card! There will be other exciting opportunities to celebrate National Safety Month as well, be sure to watch Featured News and your Excela Health email for details.

2020 Latrobe Area Hospital Aid Society Junior Volunteer Scholarship Recipients Mia E. Morgan Recipient of the First Place 2020 Junior Volunteer Scholarship of $2,500 Mia is a graduate of the Ligonier Valley High School and while volunteering worked at the front desk and interacted with patients. In the fall Mia will major in nursing at Case Western Reserve University and hopes to eventually pursue a Doctor of Nursing practice degree.
Anna R. Doelling Recipient of the Second Place 2020 Junior Volunteer Scholarship of $1,500 Anna is a graduate of the Greater Latrobe High School and while volunteering she interacted with patients and helped nurses and technicians as needed. In the fall Anna will major in biology at Saint Vincent College and then attend medical school to become a pathologist.
Anthony Joseph “AJ� Rock Recipient of the Third Place 2020 Junior Volunteer Scholarship of $1,000 Anthony is a graduate of the Greater Latrobe High School and while volunteering he worked at the front desk. In July Anthony will major in law and legal studies at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and plans to serve after graduation as a JAG officer or pilot in the military.

Employee Engagement Mandatory Net Learning Mandatory Education topics are assigned monthly beginning in July through June so to meet the regulatory requirements each year. Each month an additional two to three are added. All Mandatory Education must be completed by June 30, 2020 Many NetLearnings have been assigned over the past few months for Fiscal Year 2020 requirements. In April/May the following have been added: Stroke, Nurse on Call, Safety and Injury Prevention, and Patient Safety. Mandatory NetLearning can be found on EHWEB along the left hand side under ‘NetLearning’
New EAP Online Seminar Washington EAP services released a new online seminar free to Excela Health employees to find comfort and acceptance in the aging process. This session addresses age-related changes to help become accustomed to the natural process of aging. Kudos & Recognition Thank You Dr. Nolfi Love Doctor Nolfi! He was recommended to me when I was pregnant with my first. 4 kids later and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! He delivered 3 of my 4 children!
