Delmont-Salem Rotary Club Donation to Family Additions Maternity Center

Learn more about the Excela Health Diabetes Center during this interview with Laurel Faith in Action on Westmoreland Gold 910 AM. Staff from the center discuss who should visit the center and the information patients can learn from the center.

The Rotary Club of Delmont-Salem recently welcomed Wendy Reynolds, MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, NE-BC, Clinical Director, Family Additions Maternity, Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital as a guest speaker. In support of children and maternal health care, the club presented a $250 check for the purchase of car seats for those who deliver and may need assistance. Rotarians making the presentation included (left to right) Grant Kern, President Harold Hicks and Assistant Governor, District 7305 Dan Kravetz.

National Stroke Awareness Month National Stroke Awareness Month began in May 1989. It was created to promote public awareness and reduce the incidence of stroke in the United States. While many things have changed in the last 32 years for the better around stroke care, no one at the time of its creation could foresee what we have gone through in this past year alone. Read more

Mental Health Month

Excela Behavioral Health recognizes May as Mental Health Awareness Month. One in five U.S. adults live with mental illness. If you struggle with mental health, you are not alone. Excela Behavioral Health has inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, and crisis resources to provide support during mental health struggles to help individuals cope, grow, and focus on wellness. Online Childbirth and Beyond Educational Class Pregnant or know someone who is? Excela Health now offers an online educational class on childbirth and beyond. The online class will help you learn about the labor and delivery process, what to expect when you arrive at the hospital, medical procedures, postpartum care, common questions and concerns and more. This class is offered as an on-demand video you can view at your convenience. To register for the online class, please call the Excela Health Call Center at 1-877-771-1234. A confirmation email will be sent to you with the video link.

Western PA Regional Chief Medical Officers Consortium: A Call for All to get Vaccinated Against COVID-19 – Finishing the Job On behalf of our hospitals and health care systems, we strongly recommend everyone get vaccinated against COVID-19. ““First-time parents have many questions and anxieties about what to expect with their newborn,” said Wendy Reynolds, clinical director of the unit. “Given the volume of information that’s available on the web, our educators wanted to provide a source for verified and trustworthy information that moms can return to time and again, if need be, to increase their confidence and commitment to breastfeeding.”” Read more.
