Volume 3 Issue 17 Learn How to Save $600 on Healthcare Cost A biometric screening is the first step in the Voluntary Wellness Initiative, a program through the Motivation Alliance that promotes workplace wellness and a way to save an average of $600 a year on healthcare cost. Your screening consists of height, weight, body mass index, blood pressure, blood cholesterol and blood glucose. Visit the Voluntary Wellness Initiative page under Employee Wellness on the Intranet. View the checklist and read how you can qualify for a reduced per pay deduction premium medical plan. Remember, if a spouse is covered under our medical insurance then they also will need to log in to Motivation Alliance and complete their 200 points. Both parties must complete the program to be eligible for the wellness incentive. Appointments are filling up fast, so don’t wait! The wellness year ends September 30, and biometric screenings must be completed by that date. Additional screenings have been added for the month of September. Register for your biometric screening by clicking here. Spots are filling up fast, so be sure to register soon.

New WiFi Coming to Westmoreland Hospital

On August 1, 2020, the wireless network ExcelaPublicWiFi will be discontinued for patients and employees at Westmoreland Hospital. In its place, users are encouraged to connect to the wireless network named EH-Public-WiFi. The new wireless network is already in place at other Excela facilities. This change will bring enhanced reliability and security, along with a mandatory Acceptable Use Policy acceptance page, commonly seen on similar public wireless networks at airports, hotels, coffee shops, etc. Detailed instructions for connecting to the new wireless networks and accepting the daily acceptable use policy can be found on the IT Policies and Procedures intranet page, under Procedures and Manuals, here. Prior to August 1, you should check your personal devices, such as phones or personal laptops, to ensure you are connected to the new EH-Public-WiFi.
