Patient and Family Advisory Council Now Accepting Applicants A patient and family advisory council (PFAC) is a partnership of current and former patients, family members, community members and caregivers that work together to improve service delivery and create an overall positive patient experience. Volunteer patients and families collaborate with hospital employees (clinical, administrative and support) to provide feedback, identify opportunities, and discuss how to improve the patient and family experience. A PFAC provides valuable feedback and guidance for the organization, allowing members to make a lasting impact on the health care community. Learning directly from the consumer’s point of view can aid in policy updates, workflow changes and overall communication tweaks that can positively change the healthcare experience. The Patient and Family Advisory Council will include: • Six patients and family members • Two members from leadership from Excela Health • Six Excela Health staff members • A representative from Customer Care • An administrative Assistant To learn more and apply, click here.

Protect Yourself From Fraud & Identity Theft By Selecting Electornic W-2 Your form W-2 contains sensitive information, including your social security number. Your personal information may be at risk (e.g. fraud) if the paper W-2 is lost in the mail or stolen. Employees who select to have their W-2 electronically also receive their form earlier. Paper W-2’s are mailed on January 31 each year. However, electronic paperless W-2’s eliminates this delay as you don’t have to wait for them to arrive in the mail. This change can be done by: • Logging into UltiPro • Selcting ‘myself’ • Choose W2 under the ‘pay’ tab • From ‘things I can do’ on the left-hand side of the page choose • ‘change W2 consent form’ • Under U.S. choose the go paperless option and save

Important Reminder: Continue to Wear Proper PPE This is a reminder that all staff are required to wear the designated proper PPE for their position. Staff in office areas and non-patient care areas should be wearing a surgical mask at all times unless they are alone in an office. Staff in patient care areas must wear the appropriate mask at all times and eye protection when patient facing. In addition, we are asking that you follow proper social distancing when eating and are stopping at a temperature kiosk to assess for fever when you are entering one of our hospitals. We are seeing an increase of exposures to staff related to improper masking, working with signs of infection, and congregating/eating together without proper social distancing. Multiple employees have provided electronic feedback expressing distress that co-workers are not complying. Remember that we are required under the healthcare provisions with OSHA and CDC to follow these guidelines. Staff that do not follow these critical guidelines will fall under the progressive discipline policy. Leaders have been asked to pay close attention to adherence. Please help us help our patients, colleagues and our families. We must do all that we can to protect one another.
