United Way Day of Caring Recap

Pink the Shop! On September 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. join the Westmoreland Auxiliary as the Westmoreland Hospitality Shop goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event will include complimentary pink sweets, pink gifts for purchase, and chances to win baskets filled with pink items. 12 hours of opportunity! During the month of October, Walk-In Wednesday hours will be extended from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.! Women will be able to walk-in to our mammography sites for their screening mammo. No appointment needed. No doctor’s orders needed.

The United Way Day of Caring serves as a reminder of the good we can do when we come together as a community. Excela Health employees assisted residents of Harmon House Care Center in Mount Pleasant in making fun fall crafts, supported Seton Hill Child Services, Inc. with a beautification project, and completed some painting projects for the Westmoreland Cultural Trust. Employees represented multiple service lines including Home Care & Hospice, Laboratory, Imaging, Information Technology and more! Thank you to all who care for our community throughout the year. With the help of staff and family members, employees from the Excela Health Heart & Vascular Center were able to raise $260 for the American Heart Association during the 2019 Fayette Heart Walk! The following employees attended the walk: Ben Collins, Amanda Hagerman, Amanda Urosek, Alyssa Payton, Brian Mahokey, Robin Weyandt, and Sarah Weir.

Therapy Dog of the Month Meet Maebh, September’s Therapy Dog of the Month! Maehb is a Border Collie mix who loves bringing comfort to patients, visitors and staff of Excela Westmoreland Hospital. Along with her owner, Mike, she visits the waiting rooms and brings smiles to all she meets.

Maximizing Your Day with new EAP Seminar

Volunteer Opportunities

Washington EAP Services released a new online seminar free to Excela Health employees to help maximize time usage throughout the day. This session provides examples on effective time management and how to prioritize tasks and events between coworkers. Home Care & Hospice Walk-in Interviews! Excela Health is hiring home health professionals in a variety of positions in Westmoreland and Allegheny counties. Walk-in any Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at our Otterman Street office in Greensburg to interview with a hiring manager.
