Wellness Badges
When you're overweight, it creates certain factors that increase your blood pressure. When your blood pressure is high, your heart has to work harder to pump blood throughout your body. When this happens for an extended period of time, it can cause damage to the heart muscle itself. Also when blood pressure is chronically elevated, it can cause damage to other organs such as the eyes, causing vision problems; the brain, causing a stroke; or the kidneys, causing them to function improperly. Controlling your weight will aid in controlling blood pressure and thus decrease the risk of damage to the vital organs of the body.
