A simple blood test can check cholesterol levels. Having high blood cholesterol raises the risk for heart disease, the leading cause of death, and for stroke, the fifth leading cause of death. Medicine isn't the only way to reduce your cholesterol. Including cholesterol-lowering foods to your daily diet and exercising can also reduce cholesterol by increasing HDL and decreasing LDL as well as by improving circulation.
