Advocacy

....................................................................................................................................

Our Advocacy Service provides independent support, information and representation for older people who are vulnerable due to mental health or mental capacity issues, and who have no one else who can advocate for them. Our aim is to empower and enable people to explore their rights, express their wishes and make informed choices, when possible. The Advocacy Service is: F ,"#.#,"#,2 F 0## F -,$'"#,2' *

We have a small group of paid advocates working across the county. The team are supported by a group of dedicated volunteer advocates. Mental Health Advocacy: we aim to provide advocates for older people aged 65 and over who have a mental health condition. This may be some form of dementia or may be a functional mental health condition such as depression or anxiety. Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA): is available to particularly vulnerable older people who lack the capacity to make certain important decisions about serious medical treatment and changes of accommodation, in adult protection cases and some care reviews. The Advocate gathers information, provides support to the person and represents their wishes, feelings, beliefs and values during decision-making processes.

Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA): is available to older people who are subject to the Mental Health Act. The Advocate helps the person to understand and exercise their rights under the Act, provides support and represents their views. If you would like to talk to an Advocate or want to make a referral to the Advocacy Service, please contact: The Advocacy Service, Age UK Cheshire, 314 Chester Road, Hartford, Northwich CW8 2AB. t. 01606 305004 f. 01606 881667 e. advocacy@ageukcheshire.org.uk Referral forms for this service can also be downloaded from our website. # 0# -.#, -," 7S 0'" 7 t@kk +Sp@kk.+@

Redwalls

Private Nursing Home

Redwalls is a private nursing home that actively seeks to create the best possible environment for the resident. Redwalls reflects the style and space of the Edwardian era. Standing in 1.5 acres of well maintained lawns and gardens, screened by mature trees and shrubs it has a tranquil and secluded setting. In the grounds there are squirrels, wild birds and our dovecote with our flock of white doves.
