How you can help ............................................................................................................................... .............................................................................................................................. ....................

Age UK Enfield are not funded by the national Age UK charity (formed as a result of a merger between Help the Aged and Age Concern England). We are therefore responsible for raising all our own funds for the local services we organise for the older people living in Enfield who wish to maintain their independence, health and wellbeing. Age UK Enfield rely heavily on donations and volunteers to enable us to provide high quality services to our elderly community including: All donations received, helps us to sustain and develop our services and makes a huge difference to our ability to improve the life of Enfield’s older people who have somewhere to turn to when they need help and support.

Donate by post - send a cheque or postal order payable to Age UK Enfield and send to Age UK Enfield, Ponders End Library, College Court, High Street, Enfield EN3 4EY. One off Online Donation – make a personal donation to Age UK Enfield or on behalf of an organisation. Website: www.ageuk.org.uk/enfield

Regular giving - donate by direct debit from as little as £3.00 per month. Annual giving - donate by direct debit on a yearly basis. Gifts in wills - if you wish to leave us a gift in your will then we would be most thankful for this. To ensure we do not have to share your gift with the national charity Age UK England please ensure you specify in your will that the gift is to go to Age UK Enfield. Hold a Fundraising Event – this can be anything from a fundraising raffle to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro! If you have a fundraising idea please share it with us first so we can support you and ensure we help you to maximise the fundraising opportunity. Please also sign a gift aid declaration when making any donations. This then enables us to reclaim 25p from HMRC for every £1.00 you donate. This does not cost you anything. Please read the following questions (FAQs) for more information on Gift Aid.

............................................................................................................................... ............................................................................................................................... ...................

............................................................................................................................... .............................................................................................................................. ....................

FAQ ............................................................................................................................... .............................................................................................................................. ....................

What is Gift Aid? It’s an easy way for charities to claim back the tax on a donation you have made from HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs), i.e., the tax man! Why do charities ask you to agree to Gift Aid on your donation? Any charity can reclaim 25p for every £1.00 donation from HMRC at no cost to the original donor. So if you donate £10.00 to any charity of your choice and you allow them to collect the Gift Aid from HMRC, you will increase your initial donation from £10.00 to £12.50. Who can actually Gift Aid their donation? If you are a UK tax payer and you pay tax on your income(which includes any salaried income, private pension income or interest received on your investments and savings) then you can be a ‘Gift Aider’. What if I only have a state pension and no other income? You do not pay tax on your state pension so would not be able to Gift Aid. HOWEVER if you have private savings which generate interest you will pay tax on this so therefore you can become a Gift Aider. Does it cost me, the Donor, anything? No it doesn’t. You pledge your initial donation of say £10.00. HMRC pay the additional 25 pence in every pound back to the charity you have donated to. How can I sign up? Simply download the form from our website fill in your details and send it back to us, or contact us on 020 8375 4120 to request a form. If you have made any donations in the past and have not signed a Gift Aid declaration you can still do so and we can reclaim backdated Gift Aid for a period of 6 years.

Age Concern Enfield (Charity no. 1063696 ) operating as Age UK Enfield is in urgent need of funds following the withdrawal of public sector funding. We wish to continue to provide and develop our services to the vulnerable elderly in the London Borough of Enfield. These include the Parker Day Centre (Dementia), Home Care, Information and Advice, Befriending, Fit for Life, Active Life, Footcare and Home from Hospital. Please make a donation via the following link to our Just Giving website and leave a message of support. Don’t forget to do the Gift Aid option, which will increase the value of your donation by 25p in the £1.00. It’s very simple and only takes a couple of minutes to complete. Also please pass on the link to all your friends and family and ask them to contribute. Many thanks for your kindness.
