From the splendour of a listed grade ll Victorian Town Hall to the elegance of a Georgian Museum, from quirky court rooms to beautiful gardens, from large formal weddings to small intimate gatherings, our Heritage venues offer versatile spaces to lead you both from your first kiss to your last dance.
The Venues The Town Hall is the home of the Wyre Forest Registration Service and is fully licensed to hold Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions in a number of elegant feature rooms to include:
The King Charles i Suite
The Council Chamber
Our most popular wedding room, licensed for 80 this room features oak panelled walls, a stained glass window, 17c King Charles l Charter and Thompson’s famous mouse furniture.
Surrounded by photographs of Kidderminster Mayors and Dignitaries this room is licensed for 100.
The Victorian Court Room
The stunning William Hill Organ forms an impressive backdrop to weddings for up to 400 guests. This room is also our most popular reception room and can be used in partnership with the Corn Exchange for up to 500 family and friends.
Until recently used as an actual Crown Court full of original 1857 fixtures and fittings and licensed for 100.
The Music Room
Bewdley Museum and Guildhall are set in the heart of this beautiful riverside Georgian town. The Museum offers a range of indoor and outdoor options for your big day. Newly licensed for wedding ceremonies the first floor Guildhall offers an impressive and formal setting. A former court room , this fine proportioned Georgian room offers unrivalled accommodation for wedding ceremonies.
The Saw Yard, Shambles and Green Theatre Form a truly unique Wedding and Reception Space for up to 300 guests. The Green Theatre is set within the walled area of Jubilee gardens and ideal for a beautiful summer wedding. (If you require advice on hiring a marquee please contact the museum team).
The Guildhall A former magistrates court this first floor room offers a fine proportioned formal setting and is licensed for Wedding Ceremonies for up to 80, additional space can be created by incorporating the adjoining room.
Town Hall Receptions Following your marriage why not continue your celebration here with us at the Town Hall in one, or both, of our Reception Suites. You are welcome to engage your own choice of suppliers, alternatively we can advise you on any of the Town Hall’s preferred suppliers to include resident DJ, venue dresser, wedding band or caterer, all of whom are accomplished in ensuring your perfect day. We are here to discuss any aspect of your ceremony or reception so please feel free to contact us. We know everyone is different and each wedding day is individual and special, we will endeavour to meet your high expectations and ensure you have the day you dreamed of.
The Music Room
The Corn Exchange
The grandeur of the William Hill Organ forms an impressive backdrop for receptions. A large fully equipped stage with led lighting creates the perfect space for your wedding band or disco. The large wooden dance floor ensures the evening will be one for you all to remember .
This fully carpeted room with elegant arches and a full size bar, is ideal for a beautiful intimate reception. The Corn Exchange may be used on it’s own or along side the Music Room for up to 500 family and friends .
Giving Notice of Marriage and Legal Requirements You must give notice of your intention to marry before you can marry in a registration office, approved premise, church or chapel in England and Wales (other than a Church of England where you may have banns called). Each person wanting to marry has to give their own notice of intention to marry to the Superintendent Registrar or nominated deputy in the area in which they reside. This is a legal requirement and failure to give notice will result in the ceremony not being able to take place. Both parties must have resided in a district in England or Wales for at least 7 whole days immediately prior to giving a Notice of Marriage. The legal notice waiting period is at least 28 days before the ceremony. A notice period of 70 days may be needed if either of the parties is not an EEA national. Your local registration office will be pleased to advise you further. During the waiting period your notice will go on public display at our Register Office and at the end of the waiting period your authorities for marriage will be issued. You will still be able to marry in any register office or approved premise in England or Wales irrespective of where you live, and your notice can still be taken up to one year in advance of the date of your wedding. A fee is charged for each notice given. If either you or your partner is subject to immigration control then each of you need to give Notice of Marriage at a designated registration office.
