Communique #1
Left: We had this to enjoy. Rare was the trail as well defined as this short descent. We spent the weekend hunting for hand-size orange diamonds nailed to trees, a trail marking system that works great when the trail is half-established and you never have to look more than a few hundred feet for the next sign. This was not often the case. More than once we wandered down what we thought was our trail, or took a wrong turn at an intersection (such intersections are not marked). We had no map. We had no previous knowledge of the trail. Shit, we had no car waiting for us at the end, or a promise of hitching a ride back. But for a moment, we had what we had: a trail.
They call it the Great White North but really, Canada is pretty damn blue and green.
