Early Career Development Programme
Accelerate A career development programme for young, professional women
Accelerate A programme for professional women in their early career aimed at helping them to hone their personal leadership style and develop strategies for future career success.
Research tells us that after making the first major career decision as a new graduate, the next significant career consideration for women kicks in surprisingly quickly after commencing employment and seeing for real the women role models and career choices others in the organisation have taken. Within a few years of graduating many women in organisations are starting to change their ideas of future goals, opportunities, and lifestyle choices. Decisions made now set the pace and direction for their future career and unsupported these can be limiting in both choice and fulfilment of potential. The Accelerate programme helps women to recognise and take the necessary steps they need to now, in order to ensure greater career and personal success in the future. The Accelerate programme aims to provide a clear focus, helping women to take stock of their career to date, understand and capitalise on the strengths they have developed and talents they have identified. It supports them to access learning, experiences and responsibilities to set them up for the future.

Format The exact format and timespan can vary to suit the organisation and specific population but is designed to be a modular programme rather than just a ‘one off’ event to give appropriate time to its reflective and exploratory nature. Past programmes have typically covered a 6 month period. Programme Sponsors A key part of the programme is to offer a ‘panel’ made up of programme sponsors to share their recognition of the challenges for women’s career paths and to consult with them on how to make them more attractive and easier to navigate. This can be run in a Q and A format and also incorporate presentation from the participants on “ how we would change things to keep us“. Role Model panel We also highly recommend a Role Model panel of employees a few years ahead of the participants who are successfully and realistically managing a more senior role and a busy life out of work. The aim is to inspire participants with real examples of people they can identify closely with. Approach Participants describe our programme as insightful, flexible and challenging. We combine up to the minute research with pragmatic theories, valuable personal reflection and action orientated discussions. Coaches Our highly experienced coaches who work particularly across the legal, financial services, media and retail sectors, bring their expertise and experience to provide pragmatic and challenging coaching solutions that are adapted to each individual. They create robust and confidence-building working partnerships which are underpinned by sound coaching principles and well validated techniques.
