Featuring as Exeleon's Most Transformational Coach to Follow in 2024, we look into the story of Mike Staver – the leader's leader.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

As the eldest of three boys, Mike grew up in a family where close bonds and strong values were strongly emphasized. With a strict corporate executive father and a mother, he describes as “the only convincing evidence that God exists,” Mike's childhood was a blend of discipline and unconditional love.

His initial aspiration was to become a Navy ighter pilot, speciically a member of the Blue Angels. Despite taking lying lessons and being accepted into universities with light programs, his career path shifted dramatically.

Mike ended up pursuing a degree in Business Administration and later obtained a Master's in Counseling Psychology. This educational background, combined with his life experiences, signiicantly shaped his understanding of leadership and coaching.

"At the time, it seemed as if my education was a series of reactions. But it has shaped my worldview, my business, and how I work with people," Mike notes. He points out that real education extends beyond academic success; it involves understanding the complexities of life and navigating them with values and intention.

"Our life's work is about navigating

We are committed to helping people help  people.

with values and intention. I learned that lesson the hard way. It took failure, loss, and no short supply of hard knocks," he says. For Mike, leadership and learning are inseparable: "If you are a leader, you're a learner. If you're not a learner, you're not a leader. I don't care what your title is." This philosophy underpins his approach to leadership development and coaching, making his guidance both deeply personal and broadly applicable.

THE PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

Mike's professional journey is marked by signiicant achievements and contributions to the ield of leadership development.

Over the past 30 years of his professional journey, Mike has impacted over 200,000 individuals

through his engaging and practical approach to leadership. Moreover, he is a Certiied Speaking Professional and was inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame in 2022, further underscoring his inluence and excellence.

Mike's approach to leadership focuses on clarity, accountability, and action. He believes that leaders must have a clear understanding of their values and consistently pursue outcomes rather than getting bogged down by daily tasks. "For us, leadership is about inluencing a person or group of people to achieve results beyond which they believe themselves able," he explains.

This philosophy has been central to his work at The Staver Group, where he helps leaders close the gap between their intentions and actual results.

BRIDGING THE GAP

BETWEEN INTENTION AND RESULTS

With Staver Group, Mike helps leaders bridge the gap between their intentions and actual results through a multi-faceted approach. "We help leaders bridge gaps by doing several things."

The organization focuses on helping leaders gain clarity, overcome obstacles, and develop conviction and commitment. This approach ensures long-term success for businesses by improving leadership performance and execution.

He emphasizes that many organizations are over managed and under led, highlighting the importance of leadership in achieving results beyond what individuals believe possible.

To lead effectively, there must be a relentless pursuit of outcomes. Mike and his team help leaders achieve this by:

• Clarifying Values: Leaders need a solid understanding of their core values to guide their decisions and actions.

• Focusing on Outcomes: Prioritizing results over daily tasks and distractions is crucial for effective leadership.

• Understanding Accountability: Building a culture of accountability is essential. Leaders must comprehend the true meaning of accountability and integrate it into their organizational culture.

• Evaluating Resources: It's important to assess whether the resources available to their team are sufficient to meet desired outcomes.

• Ensuring Execution: Mike stresses the importance of evaluating the intersection of responsibility and authority. Leaders must ensure they have effectively delegated both to their teams to facilitate successful execution.

THE STAVER GROUP APPROACH

The Staver Group works with leaders to help them perform better, confront problems, and make a cultural difference by applying a structured approach.

The core methodology of The Staver Group is grounded in a straightforward yet profound principle: acceptance. "We work with leaders' performance through a ilter," Mike explains. "The ilter is simply acceptance."

In his book, Leadership Isn't for Cowards , he outlines six essential steps that all leaders should follow to improve their performance:

• Acceptance of Circumstances : Mike emphasizes the importance of accepting situations as they are without making them better or worse. "Acceptance does not equal approval," he clariies. A rigorous, nonjudgmental look at reality is crucial for leaders to perform better. The moment leaders add qualiiers like good/bad or right/wrong, it triggers judgment, leading to emotional reactions or rationalizations that can hinder performance. "To perform better, leaders need to see reality for what it is.”

• Taking Responsibility : In a world where people often avoid responsibility, leaders must create a culture based on repair rather than blame. "Responsibility leads to repair. Blame leads to punishment. Blame cultures usually build

compliance. Responsibility cultures drive commitment," Mike explains. Leaders who take responsibility and instill personal responsibility within their culture see better performance.

• Action Orientation : Mike highlights the need for leaders to develop an action-oriented mindset. "Most people spend too much time getting ready and not enough time getting busy," he observes. Effective leaders bridge the gap between intention and execution by focusing on action, even when faced with insuficient information or resources. "A leader that closes the gap between intention and execution is focused on action."

• Acknowledging Progress : Recognizing and celebrating incremental progress is vital for maintaining motivation and focus. While traditional approaches may underline achieving the big goal, Mike believes that celebrating benchmarks is equally important. "Leaders that build a culture of celebrating incremental wins tend to get more accomplished," he says. This practice helps maintain commitment to the overall outcome while acknowledging the steps taken along the way.

• Commitment to Success Habits : Developing and maintaining success habits is crucial for leaders. Mike identiies gratitude as one of the most important success habits. "The research is clear,

experiencing gratitude in a concentrated way has an impact on decision-making and creativity," he explains. Unlike thankfulness, which is cognitive, gratitude is a deeper, spiritual, and emotional experience. Mike recommends dedicating 2-3 minutes each morning to dwell on things you are grateful for. "Abiding in gratitude impacts us on a deeper transformational level,”

Through these principles, The Staver Group assists leaders in not only improving their performance but also in making meaningful cultural changes within their organizations. By focusing on acceptance, responsibility, action, progress acknowledgment, and success habits, Mike's approach creates leaders who are clear, committed, and capable of executing their visions effectively. This methodology ensures longterm success and transformation for both the leaders and their businesses.

BALANCING PRODUCTIVITY AND FOCUS

Maintaining productivity and focus while managing a successful business and coaching others is no small feat. For Mike Staver, the key lies in rejecting the traditional notion of work-life balance. "I start with surrendering the idea of work-life balance," he explains.

Instead of striving for a perfect equilibrium, Mike talks about the importance of living in alignment with one's core values. "Overall, it all balances out, but in the short run, I have found it dificult to

balance," he acknowledges.

Mike challenges the common expectations of balancing time, work, life, and energy. For him, the true essence of balance comes from aligning actions and decisions with deeply held values. His top three core values are Authenticity, Excellence, and Freedom. "I ilter my life through those three values," he says. These values act as a compass, guiding his decisions and ensuring that his actions are meaningful and fulilling. "When I am authentic, living in excellence, and feeling freedom, what I am doing feels alive," Mike shares.

A practical aspect of Mike's approach to managing his busy schedule is his reliance on a meticulously planned calendar. "On a practical level, my life is managed by my calendar. So much so that

during the week, if it's not on my calendar, it doesn't happen," he states. This disciplined approach allows him to handle the demands of his coaching practice eficiently. He builds his calendar around his values, ensuring that his time is spent on activities that align with his principles.

Mike also credits his success to having a strong support system. "I am blessed with an outstanding team that keeps me sane," he says. His team plays a crucial role in helping him maintain focus and productivity, allowing him to dedicate his energy to the areas that matter most.

FUTURE PLANS

Looking ahead, Mike is excited about several new initiatives for The Staver Group, particularly

their Coaching Certiication program. This rigorous program is designed to equip individuals with the foundational principles of effective coaching, ensuring they are well-prepared to help others improve their performance and quality of life.

"We are committed to helping people help people. We have a rigorous coaching certiication program that teaches people the core foundational principles of being a great coach," he asserts. The program includes eight threehour sessions with homework and a written and oral exam, ensuring that participants are professionally prepared to excel in their roles.

An Interview with Gabriel Lukov

From Sales to Strategy

tarting his career on the sales loor, Gabriel Lukov's journey has been marked by a relentless drive for understanding customer needs and mastering the intricacies of business processes.

Today, at the helm of Inbound Growth at Businessmap, Gabriel leverages his extensive experience to drive innovative growth strategies. In this exclusive interview, he shares insights into his career evolution, the transformative changes he's implemented in sales processes, and the future initiatives that have him excited about the path ahead.

Gabriel, could you start by telling us about your initial career path and what led you to your current role as the Head of Inbound Growth at Businessmap?

My career began in sales, where I loved the direct interaction with clients and the challenge of meeting targets. This experience provided me with a solid

understanding of customer needs and business processes.

Over time, I transitioned into various strategic roles in consulting and customer success, which helped me hone my skills in leading cross-functional teams and solving complex strategic challenges.

My passion for implementing sustainable business transformations and my drive for results led me to my current role at Businessmap, where I'm excited to apply all that, I've learned to fuel our growth in new and innovative ways.

You have mentioned in interviews about streamlining Businessmap's sales process, which improved customer acquisition by 30%. Can you walk us through the key changes you implemented?

The main changes were focused on simplifying and optimizing the entire sales cycle. We began with dissecting our S

existing process to identify bottlenecks and points of friction. We then implemented a CRM system that allowed for better lead tracking and management. Training the sales team on a streamlined qualiication process was next, enabling them to focus resources on the most promising leads.

We also reined our value proposition to better match customer pain points and aligned our sales and marketing efforts to target ideal customer proiles more effectively. Together, these steps not only improved our customer acquisition rate but also brought more clarity and eficiency to our sales operations.

Digital marketing has been a game-changer for many businesses. Can you discuss how digital strategies have reshaped your business development efforts?

Digital marketing has indeed transformed our approach to business development. By leveraging data analytics, we've been able to gain deeper insights into customer behavior and preferences. This information has helped us create more targeted and personalized marketing campaigns.

In addition, social media platforms have allowed us to engage with our audience in real-time, and content marketing has been instrumental in establishing thought leadership in our industry. Overall, digital strategies have expanded our reach, improved our lead generation efforts, and allowed us to respond more swiftly to market changes.

You've emphasized the importance of honest and open communication. How do you ensure this within your team and when dealing with clients?

Maintaining honest and open communication is vital for trust and transparency, both within the team and with clients. Internally, we promote a culture where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas and concerns. Regular team meetings, one-on-one checkins, and anonymous feedback channels help facilitate this.

With clients, we set expectations early on and provide regular updates on project progress. We also encourage them to be candid about their feedback, ensuring that we remain responsive and adaptable to their needs. The cornerstone of all this is building a foundation of trust where each conversation is approached with integrity and respect.

What advice would you give to someone aspiring to lead business transformations within their organization?

Leading business transformations requires a clear vision and the ability to mobilize people towards that vision. My advice would be to start with a deep understanding of the organization's current state and the dynamics of the marketplace. Communicate your vision effectively, set measurable goals, and create a sense of urgency around the transformation efforts.

It's also essential to be resilient, as change can be met with resistance. Celebrate small wins to build momentum and continuously

engage with your teams to keep morale high.

Finally, make sure to leverage data to inform decisions and demonstrate the positive impact of the changes being implemented.

Looking ahead, what are some of the new initiatives or projects you are excited to launch at Businessmap? On a personal level, what is your vision going forward?

Looking ahead, one of the initiatives I'm particularly excited about is the launch of our AI-driven analytics platform, which aims to provide even more accurate predictions and insights for our clients.

On the process side, we are exploring the adoption of more advanced automation tools to optimize worklows, enabling our teams to focus more on strategic tasks.

Personally, my vision going forward is to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible in business growth and to remain committed to learning and adapting. I want to continue fostering an environment where innovation is encouraged, and where we can make a real difference for our clients and our industry.

Time is Precious

An Interview with Alex Hurworth

lex Hurworth is a dynamic executive coach and consultant who has dedicated over two decades to building and improving software, leading the design and strategy of numerous apps across global markets. After an extensive career in technology, including pivotal roles in corporate and pandemic response projects, Alex experienced a signiicant career shift.

A"Time is Precious" was born from Alex's personal journey of overcoming burnout and recognizing the inite nature of life. In this interview, Alex discusses her career evolution, the pivotal moments that led to her transition into coaching, the impact of her global experiences, and her vision for empowering others through leadership. She also addresses the barriers women face in taking career risks and provides valuable advice for organizations looking to advance female leadership.

Relecting on your transition from tech leader to executive coach, what pivotal moments or insights prompted this shift in your career path?

I've always been driven by a desire to have a real impact. While that showed through the apps and software we created, my greatest fulillment came from developing my direct reports. After 20 years in the corporate grind, working relentlessly on projects for the CEO, CTO, and then additionally as part of New York State's pandemic response, I was burned out. It was time for a change.

In 2021, I decided to leverage my entrepreneurial spirit and start my own business focused on partnering with organizations to support them in elevating their talent's leadership. This allows me to channel my energy into what I'm most passionate aboutempowering others to grow as leaders.

You've had the opportunity to work in several global cities. How have these diverse cultural experiences inluenced your professional approach and leadership style?

Working overseas taught me the immense value of experiencing different cultures. It was a humbling reminder that my perceived "norms" are just one

way of viewing the world. This experience has made me vigilant about not making assumptions about my clients or direct reports.

Each person is unique, with their own needs and values. To truly unlock someone's potential, I must nurture and appreciate them as an individual, not treat them as part of a monolithic group. This approach is crucial to bringing out the best in others.

Can you tell us more about the genesis of 'Time is Precious'? What was the moment or motivation that sparked the idea for this venture?

This is deeply personal. Ten months into the pandemic, I had my irst and only panic attack. Though nothing compared to the heroics of frontline workers, I was burned out from working until midnight most nights on a COVID response app, alongside my regular duties. That panic attack made me feel like I was dying. It was a wake-up call that life is short. Once that project ended, I knew I had to prioritize my wellbeing and inally pursue my dream of starting my own business.

Now that I've made the leap, I'm noticing more and more frequently how people are dissatisied with their work situation, burnt out, or knowing they're capable of more, but paralyzed by fear and the powerful inertia of the status quo. It's easier to sleepwalk through the familiar routine: wake up, go to work, attend meetings, go home, repeat. The paycheck and beneits further entrench the cycle. And in the blink of an eye, one year becomes two, three then ive.

Making a change requires venturing into the unfamiliar and can be risky. It means extra work on top of daily duties - speaking up for a promotion, rallying your team around an audacious idea, or even leaving to start your own business. But that's where growth happens when you muster the courage to disrupt your comfortable patterns.

So, I named my company after that transformative experience, as a reminder of why I'm doing this. Depending on what you believe, we have one life. Let's make the most of it!

What do you believe are the most signiicant barriers today that prevent women from taking more risks in their careers? How do you address these challenges in your coaching sessions?

Gender norms discourage women from voicing their opinions at work. Lack of conidence and imposter syndrome are constant hurdles. The gender pay gap and societal pressures mean many women lack the inancial safety net to take entrepreneurial risks - it feels safer sticking with a steady paycheck and health insurance. For mothers, the high cost of childcare makes returning to work economically challenging. There are so many barriers holding women back from pursuing their ambitions and starting businesses.

My last name is Hurworth (“herworth”). I think that is no accident! My mission is to elevate women into leadership roles, increasing their wealth and independence so they can take risks professionally and personally. I want them to speak up fearlessly, and to learn to

quieten voices of self-doubt and second-guessing. My coaching helps clients get crystal clear on their goals and maps out the micro-steps to achieve them. Through low-risk experiments, they see that inaction is impossible - these small steps build unstoppable momentum towards transformative change. They realize their true capability, learning that it's action that creates conidence, not the other way around. They don't need to wait for conidence before making moves.

I give my clients the tools and mindset to boldly pursue what they want without restraint. With inancial independence comes the power to take chances and lead more purposeful lives on their own terms.

In your opinion, what are the essential elements for maintaining a fulilling professional life without compromising personal happiness and well-being?

The essential elements for maintaining a fulilling professional life without sacriicing personal happiness and well-being are self-awareness and the courage to take purposeful action. Selfawareness means deep understanding your core values, priorities, and boundaries.

What's most important to you?

What lines won't you cross? Get clear on your non-negotiables for a life of integrity. From that selfknowledge, you must have the courage to get into action and have those dificult yet critical conversations. Voice your needs, assert your boundaries, stand irm

on your principles - all in an objective, compassionate way. Don't let discomfort keep you from expressing what truly matters.

When you know yourself and can communicate authentically, you create the space to honor all parts of who you are - professional, personal, family, health, spirit. You

learn to integrate these into a cohesive, sustainable way of living and leading that feels deeply aligned. It's not easy, but it's a skill that can be practiced. The more you exercise your voice with selfawareness, the more natural and empowering it becomes to uphold your vision for a rewarding professional journey and a life you

feel genuinely good about.

Finally, what advice would you give to organizations looking to genuinely advance female leadership within their ranks?

My top three recommendations are:

1) Mandate unconscious bias training to increase awareness around gender and minority biases, signaling leadership's commitment.

2) Offer equal parental leave regardless of gender. This allows any parent to be the primary caretaker without career impacts traditionally falling on birthing parents.

3) Provide leadership skills training, investing in upskilling women and creating more role models.

By implementing these, we'll start dismantling biases, update outdated caregiving norms, and empower women to step into their power as leaders. It's about creating an equitable culture of growth for all.

Building High-Performing Teams

Insights from Leading Coaches

The nature of work is changing. Historically, organizations were designed to optimize for eficiency because work was predictable. However, with the rise of new technological innovations, the rate of change in business has accelerated dramatically. In this new world, companies are shifting their focus from optimizing for eficiency to prioritizing adaptability and agility. One way they are achieving this is through organizational design, speciically restructuring around teams.

Teams have become the cornerstone of modern organizations. But not every group qualiies as a team, and not every team achieves high performance. Drawing on the insights of seven distinguished business coaches, we delve into the key principles that can transform any group into a highperforming team.

What are High-Performing Teams?

High-performing teams are elite groups of individuals who leverage their collective skills, diverse perspectives, specialized expertise, and complementary strengths to accomplish challenging goals. These teams are hyper-focused on achieving clear, outstanding results. They thrive on a foundation of trust, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose. By harnessing their collective talents and aligning their efforts, high-performing teams consistently surpass benchmarks and set new standards of excellence.

But high-performing teams aren't made by magic. With the right approach to performance management, you'll empower them to collaborate, innovate, and produce work at the highest levels.

1. Clear Communication and Transparent Goals

Chris Langley, Director of Heritage Windows, emphasizes that clear communication and setting transparent goals are foundational to building highperforming teams.

Drawing from his extensive experience in interior design and business management, Chris underscores the importance of recognizing individual strengths and providing continuous feedback. He believes, "Cultivating a culture of collaboration and trust ensures everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute their best."

Leading by example and demonstrating integrity and a strong work ethic inspire teams to follow suit, fostering sustained high morale and performance.

2. Clear Communication and Transparent Goals

Nneka Vivienne Onwuachu, a transformational coach, highlights the necessity of cultivating trust and psychological safety within teams. She argues that creating a safe environment for open communication and risk-taking is fundamental.

Nneka points out, "Aligning the team around a clear vision and shared goals is essential for direction and engagement." Empowering team members through ownership and recognizing achievements further bolsters team cohesion and effectiveness.

3. Clarity in Roles and Responsibilities

Ola Miedzynska, Co-Founder of Erobella, underscores clarity as a critical principle for high-performing teams. Her observations reveal that vague roles and overlapping responsibilities can lead to conlict and tension.

"Clarity builds trust, gives people agency, and helps them stay calm, centered, and in control," she asserts. By clearly deining roles, responsibilities, and processes, leaders can prevent uncertainty and foster a more focused and eficient team dynamic.

4. Skills-Based Hiring

Mike Falahee, President of Marygrove, advocates for skills-based hiring over traditional qualiications.

Relecting on his experience in scaling businesses, Mike notes that hiring skilled individuals leads to higher performance and job satisfaction. "Highperforming teams have more skilled employees who are hired through their skills and not qualiications or past work experience," he explains.

This approach not only reduces burnout rates but ensures that team members are adept at their roles, enhancing overall team productivity.

5. A Culture of Results

Jeff Mains, founder of Champion Leadership Group, stresses the importance of fostering a resultsoriented culture. Creating a shared vision where each team member understands their impact on organizational success can drive consistent, highquality results.

Jeff observes, "By focusing on outcomes and embedding accountability into the team's DNA, you transform team members into proactive problemsolvers committed to collective goals." This approach cultivates a sense of ownership and empowerment, leading to sustained excellence and innovation.

chief of staff at Wells Fargo, highlights the value of continuous feedback and development.

His experience underscores the need for clear communication and empowerment. "Continuous feedback encourages growth and promptly addresses issues," he notes, creating a motivated and cohesive team. Michael's principles focus on fostering a collaborative environment where everyone's contributions are valued, driving the team towards excellence.

7. Embracing Diversity

Naomi Clarke, Chief Diversity Oficer at Flingster.com, champions diversity and inclusion as key elements of high-performing teams. She explains how diverse perspectives drive innovation and effective problemsolving.

"To achieve this, it's imperative to foster an environment of psychological safety where every team member feels valued and heard," Clarke states. Her strategy of open communication and collaboration allows individuals to leverage their unique strengths, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

In conclusion, building a high-performing team requires a multifaceted approach that encompasses clear communication, trust, clarity in roles, skills-based hiring, a results-oriented culture, continuous feedback, and diversity and inclusion.

By integrating these principles, leaders can cultivate teams that are not only high-performing but also resilient, innovative, and deeply committed to their collective success. These insights provide a robust framework for any organization aiming to elevate their team's performance to new heights.

HEALING GROWTH &

The Mindful Man Method with Len DeCarmine

Amidst all the global chaos of gender

disparity and evolving societal expectations, men face a unique set of challenges and pressures that often go unaddressed. This lack of support and understanding can lead to signiicant personal struggles and emotional turmoil.

Len DeCarmine, the Founder and Facilitator of the Mindful Man Method, knows this journey all too well. Through his own experiences of depression, isolation, and the search for purpose, Len has crafted a transformative approach to help men navigate their emotional landscapes and ind clarity, leadership, and connection.

In this interview, Len shares his personal journey and the pivotal moments that shaped the Mindful Man Method, offering insights into how men can overcome obstacles and grow into their best selves.

Can you share with us your journey and how you became the Founder and Facilitator of the Mindful Man Method?

Being the Founder and Facilitator of the Mindful Man Method has been characterized by signiicant challenges, obstacles, personal struggles, and even greater growth.

As a man, I have experienced many internal and external pressures: trying to understand myself, feeling lost in this world, expressing my emotions, dealing with inancial struggles, balancing family obligations with my personal goals, and feeling isolated and alone.

As these pressures took a toll on me, I became depressed and isolated. I began feeling withdrawn from the world, wanting to hide and avoid life as much as possible. At my lowest points, I wondered if anyone would even miss me.

It was a very dark and challenging time for me. I felt overwhelmed by the weight and the restless demands of life. I didn't know who to turn to for help. I never had any luck with therapy, and the friends I sought help from weren't any better off with their own lives or relationships.

I realized that something needed to change before it was too late. As some of my friends turned to drugs and alcohol to manage their pain, I turned to books to explore what I needed to move beyond my suffering and ind the tools and resources necessary for change.

As I continued this journey, I began speaking to other men who were dealing with challenges like mine—issues in their marriage, divorce, separation from their children, feeling lost, alone, and unworthy.

I understood their pain and suffering because they were just like me. I started sharing what I learned and how I pulled myself back up even in my darkest moments.

As I told my story, these men wanted to learn more about how I did it—how I found hope again, managed my relationships, and even managed my emotions when conversations got heated.

I told them I had found mindfulness, focusing on the present, managing what I could control, and realizing its potential to reduce my stress and improve my clarity.

Mindfulness taught me I was

better off accepting my feelings, not pushing them down. It also taught me that the more vulnerable you are, the more strength you can ind within you. Learning this gave me the power to escape the darkness and ind the light to help and serve others.

I founded the Mindful Man Method to create a safe space for men to explore their emotions, confront challenges, and grow into their best selves. My experiences have shaped the Mindful Man Method's three core principles: clarity, leadership, and connection.

Today, I am dedicated to helping men handle life's challenges with grace and strength. We overcome obstacles by sharing our stories and supporting each other, emerging as stronger, more fulilled individuals.

Could you describe a pivotal moment or experience in your life that signiicantly shaped your coaching philosophy?

One pivotal moment that signiicantly shaped my coaching philosophy occurred when I realized that no one was coming to save me. I remember sitting alone in my home on the edge of my bed with my face in my hands, feeling utterly defeated. The weight of life inally got the best of me.

I received advice from family and friends to do this or try that, but nothing aligned with me. I realized that I had to ind it within me.

I had two choices in my life—give up or take action. I began to think and ask myself: What type of role model do I want to be for my three beautiful children? What legacy do I want to leave behind when I'm older?

I pondered these and many other

questions for days as I worked to ind clarity in my life. I began to look at who I am and who I've been. I needed to ind my way again to give my life purpose and meaning. I sat down with pen and paper and created a vision of the man I wanted to be, the life I desired, and how I wanted to show up for the world to see.

I realized that to do this, I needed to take responsibility for my life—not just responsibility but radical responsibility—the type of responsibility that would be confronting. It was intimidating and fearful, but for me to show up as the man I needed to be, this needed to be the way.

As I did, I began to show up differently. I had more conidence and became more resilient. My relationships began to transform, and I developed deeper connections with people around me in ways I never imagined.

This moment in my life, realizing that no one was coming to save me, transformed my way of being and gave me the methodology and frameworks I use to help men deal with challenges head-on so that real growth and healing can occur.

Can you elaborate on your three pillars: Clarity, Leadership, and Connection? How do they integrate into your coaching sessions?

The Mindful Man Method is built on three foundational pillars: Clarity, Leadership, and Connection.

Clarity, the irst step in the transformative journey of the Mindful Man Method, is about understanding your true self. This self-awareness is the key to understanding others and

the world around you. With a clear vision that aligns with your current position and future aspirations, you gain the power to make informed choices and decisions. A man with a clear sense of purpose is a leader in his own right, equipped to navigate life's challenges with conidence.

Leadership, the second pillar of the Mindful Man Method, is about taking charge of your life with conidence. It's about taking radical responsibility for yourself, managing your emotions, and understanding the root causes of your responses. As you become more self-aware and enhance your emotional intelligence, you elevate your conidence and take ownership of your personal growth. This pillar inspires you to become the best version of yourself.

Connection, the third pillar of the Mindful Man Method, is about building meaningful relationships with the people in your life. However, it goes deeper; it's about a heart-centered connection with yourself. It allows you to be seen and understood for the amazing man you are and to leave a powerful legacy behind for generations to come.

These pillars are not just concepts, but practical tools integrated into coaching sessions. Through selfdiscovery exercises, deep inner work, and powerful feedback and support, the Mindful Man Method equips men with the skills to overcome obstacles, achieve their goals, and lead fulilling lives.

In your experience, what are some common unhealthy patterns or behaviors that people struggle with, and how do

you help them break free from these?

Many men face unhealthy patterns and behaviors that can hinder their personal growth and hurt their relationships and overall wellbeing. One of the most common struggles men face is communicating their emotions.

As men, we are often conditioned to suppress our emotions, leading to multiple issues and conlicts. We end up having health issues, causing increased stress, anxiety, and depression. Our partners may see us as disengaged and uncaring, leading to misunderstandings and conlicts, causing them to feel neglected or disconnected.

I understand how challenging it can be to open up, leaving yourself exposed and vulnerable to being hurt, criticized, or judged. However, there are practical ways to help you start this journey.

First, you want to recognize and acknowledge your emotions. Don't suppress, ignore, or avoid them. Relect on how and why you're feeling them so you can more accurately identify them.

Second, understand the root cause and triggers of your emotions. Identifying them allows you to associate emotions with speciic events. I recommend that you look for patterns to anticipate and manage your emotional responses when they arise.

Third, practice expressing your emotions in a healthy and constructive way using "I" statements. For example, you can say, "I feel disrespected when I'm

interrupted because it makes me feel like my thoughts and opinions are not valued."

Applying these techniques is a simple and effective way to get started today. They allow you to break free from unhealthy patterns, become a better communicator, and express your feelings without shame or judgment.

What is your long-term vision for the Mindful Man Method?

The vision for the Mindful Man Method, as a whole, is to become the global leader in assisting men to grow and develop into their best selves. To support men in authentically living and leading through healthy and thoughtful practices.

The goal is to continue developing supportive training, including a full range of coaching programs, learning courses, retreats, and specialized content, such as webinars, podcasts, and books, to assist men in their personal growth and well-being.

Additionally, we will continue to build and expand our supportive community to grow and make a difference in the lives of men worldwide.

We care about doing good for society and seeing a future where men everywhere can reach their highest potential in every part of their lives.

Liz Clifton Embracing the Calm Confidence

inding a sense of calm and conidence can be a transformative journey in this fast-paced and often chaotic world.

Liz Clifton, a coach and advocate for calm leadership, has made it her mission to empower individuals with what she describes as "clear, calm, connected conidence." Drawing inspiration from her personal experiences, particularly rehabilitating her irst Romanian rescue dog, Zara, Liz has developed a unique coaching philosophy that emphasizes the importance of calm leadership and the profound impact of our emotional states on those around us.

In this exclusive interview, Liz Clifton shares the origins of her mission, the essence of calm leadership, and how her work with rescue animals has shaped her coaching methods

Your coaching philosophy centers on empowering individuals with clear, calm, connected conidence. Can you describe what initially inspired this mission?

Yes of course, thanks so much for asking. Whilst rehabilitating our irst Romanian rescue dog Zara, I discovered that I too was historically low in conidence, trust of others and was staying silent rather than using my voice. As we slowly grew

our own individual self-conidence through silent calm connection and gentle loving companionship, we both began to enjoy being ourselves.

After months we heard Zara bark for the very irst time ever and I too began to use my voice to support those around me. I believe that when we can create our own clear, calm, connected conidence with ourselves we are then able to create and strengthen it with others too. It was in fact during a moment of silent Animal Reiki relaxation meditation that the take34u mission and Family Dog Connection Limited ideas came to me. In our calm connection, my creativity grew alongside Zara's playful inquisitive natural instincts and personality. I knew there and then that I got to support others to ind their own way and ease their transformational journeys.

How do you deine calm leadership and why do you believe it is essential in today's fast-paced world?

For me, calm leadership is the ability to lead from a space of calm. When you are calm everything is clearer for you. You can view things from a neutral calm perspective free from any old bias or emotional attachment. Being able to take a moment anywhere at any time to pause and calm yourself is a magniicent attribute of a great leader. To me the greatest leaders in all areas of life lead

from this space of calm. It's a tremendous strength to be able to strive for a sense of calm in any situation as it gives you the opportunity to choose your next action or step forwards.

Calm leadership empowers you to connect to those around you, of any species, with unconditional compassion, empathy, clarity and kind conidence. This helps you to create and enjoy strong relationships that are based on calm active listening and fair unbiased treatment which leads to success for all individuals concerned. Calm leadership offers you the chance to step out of the busy fast-paced world that we live in so that you can enjoy the present moment, choose the important areas of your life that you want to focus on, and lead yourself and all areas of your life with natural ease and low.

You mentioned the profound impact of rehabilitating rescue animals on your own healing process. Can you share more about how this experience translates into your coaching methods?

Thanks so much for such a thoughtful question. Rescuing animals offers us a unique mirror of our own behavior, emotions, feelings and energy. If you wake up feeling a bit tired or frustrated it's likely that your rescue animal or other pet will exhibit a different behavior than when you are feeling relaxed, calm and content. So, where my clients have pets, I often get them to notice how their feelings are mirrored by their animals. This is a great place for them to consider how their feelings are affecting their behavior.

Where clients don't have pets, I still use rescue animals as an example for story purposes as it is still supportive for people to start to consider how they have a choice on how they choose to feel

and behave. Where they instead live with or interact with people at home or regularly, I get them to notice how their mood changes the behavior of those around them. Rescue animals also show innate natural instincts readily and openly which I share with my clients to help them start to consider their own natural needs, wants and desires.

This initial self-awareness is a great foundation to start building self-acceptance, selfunderstanding, self-forgiveness and self-love. All of which play a huge part in choosing, planning, creating and achieving the changes that you want to make in all areas of your life.

How do you tailor your coaching techniques to suit the diverse needs of your clients, considering you aim to empower individuals of any species?

At my initial session, I evaluate what the individual client wants and needs. From there I then tailor a bespoke coaching experience using my vast range of skills to address their speciic needs.

The initial work usually centers around releasing their historic emotional baggage/limiting beliefs, fears, hurt, sadness, loss, and stress so that they can begin to rebuild their connection to themselves and those around them alongside their calm conidence.

The next step is to then work on sharing skills, techniques, practices, and resources with

them. So that they can begin to use and enjoy them immediately and, in the future, to release ongoing emotions and enjoy making their ongoing choices with ease and conidence.

As someone who has already guided thousands, what strategies do you employ to measure the success and impact of your coaching?

For individual clients I measure their own initial wellbeing scores in all areas of their life against their personal scores at the end of their sessions. For groups, I measure the number of session and program completions alongside their own wellbeing scores from the beginning and end of their sessions. I also measure any referrals from individual clients.

Looking forward, what are your primary goals for the next ive years in your coaching practice?

In the next 5 years, I will complete my bespoke accredited calm leadership program to support others to develop their own calm leadership in all areas of their lives. I will also achieve at least another 1,500 completed calm leadership students with me personally who will then be able to share their new skills with those around them.

I will also have supported at least another 50 individual clients to complete their bespoke transformation coaching experiences and will have employed at least 10 calm leadership mentors to share my accredited calm leadership

program across the UK and beyond.

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their career in coaching or leadership?

Trust yourself. Take time to truly connect with what you want to achieve with your coaching or leadership career. You could ask yourself this simple question "For what purpose coaching or leadership?" Notice what comes up for you and continue asking yourself "For what purpose x?" until you have a good understanding of your drive for your new coaching or leadership career.

Based on your answers, choose if you want to work for yourself or with a company, charity, or organization as each of them will require a different type of training qualiication, insurance, accreditation, and professional body membership. Always reach out for support as many of us have walked this path just like you and are happy to help you choose the best path for you. Above all else ensure that you enjoy what you do. Coaching and leadership roles offer you the chance to make a big difference in people's lives but always remember to look after yourself irst. Look after your health and wellbeing, by giving yourself daily joy, rest, and relaxation as that will always empower you to help others to the best of your ability.

TINTERVIEW WITH DAVID MELTZER

o say human life has come a long way would be an

understatement. We have achieved things that other species can't even think of. We have made strides in industrial development, understood our chemistry, connected our planet with communication, unfolded the mysteries of outer space, and made advancements in other uncountable things. However, we also had to sacriice many things to achieve this profound success. And one of the things that got severely affected in the process was the 'values' that made us humans, that made us happy.

That's why the role of life & business coaches, therapists, motivational speakers, amongst others have become more than important today. These esteemed personalities help us to not lose our humane values and encourage forward momentum by establishing positive goals both in our personal and professional life.

David Meltzer, CEO of David Meltzer Enterprises and Cofounder of Sports 1 Marketing, stands tall among these personalities. The pioneering leader and serial entrepreneur feels that being 'interested' in the process is more important than being someone who is perceived as 'interesting.' Aware of his talents, he puts all the lessons he teaches into practice, never fails to ask for help, does not cater to the desires of his ego, and ensures that he adheres to the routine as closely as possible to his instructions.

And for the modern, fast-growing world, there is only one

thing that gets David out of his bed in the morning; he wants to empower over one billion people to be happy. In an Exclusive Interview with Exeleon Magazine, David Meltzer shares his inspiring story and philosophies.

What according to you makes one an admired leader? How do you integrate the same thought into your leadership?

The world's best leaders are intelligent followers, people who are more interested than interesting, as they work to become their highest self. I'm very aware that I'm still practicing all of the lessons that I teach, including asking for help and not feeding the needs of my ego, but I ensure that I am practicing them every day.

What prompted you the inception of David Meltzer Enterprises?

I believe that the world today has a happiness problem, with higher rates of unhappiness and suicide than ever before. That is why I've made it my life's mission to empower over 1 billion people to be happy and create a collective consciousness of happiness throughout the world.

As for our company are a values-based organization that operates based on the principles of gratitude, empathy, accountability, and effective communication in order to make a lot of money, help a lot of people, and have a lot of fun.

What has the journey been like for David Meltzer over the years?

It used to be that I was known as “someone else's guy”, and so the past few years I have put a focus on building my own personal brand as part of my life's mission to empower others with the values that have brought me happiness and success. One of the biggest changes came when I wrote my irst book, Connected To Goodness . I had wanted to write an evergreen business book, like Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich , and codifying the values and stories in it has given me a platform to connect with others and provide as much value as I can.

Looking back, what would you have done different when starting out?

Be radically humble and not lose sight of my core values by letting my ego get in the way. There was a time when I felt like Midas and that everything I would touch turned to gold, but when you lose your connection to things like humility and gratitude, that is when you are going to have to pay a heavy price to relearn those lessons.

Being a keynote speaker, serial entrepreneur, business coach, best-selling author, and so on, how do you maintain a work life balance?

I might be a little unique due to the fact that I don't believe in “work”, I simply believe there is activity we get paid for and activity that we don't get paid for. When you take this perspective, you are looking to maximize the activities that you get paid for as well as placing your

intention on making the most of the activities that you do not get paid for. Sleep is a great example of an important activity that we don't get paid for, and one that can impact every other area of our life if we don't give it enough attention.

I'm also a believer that you need to have two routines, one for when you are at home and an adaptable routine for when you are traveling, or your typical routine is disrupted by other factors.

What has been the biggest driving factor for you as a leader and entrepreneur? What would be your advice for aspiring and emerging leaders?

I want my legacy to be the collective consciousness of happiness I've created, impacting more than 1 Billion people and empowering them to enjoy the consistent and persistent pursuit of their potential. That mission is a part of everything I do in my business and my life, and it is why I spend so much of my time each day serving others and providing as much value as possible, unconditionally.

My best advice for aspiring leaders would be to study human nature, because that is one aspect of life and business that never changes.

What approach do you follow when offering your training and consulting services? How do you ensure optimal client satisfaction?

Anybody that I work with is on a month-to-month basis and I guarantee every month that I'm a proit center for you. That means if I don't make you more money that I cost each money, just ask and you'll get your money back. I also offer many things for free, including my books, training guides, and the Friday Training sessions I hold for thousands of people each week.

Talk to us about your mission of empowering OVER 1 BILLION people.

The project that I'm most excited about, and the one that drives me every day, is my mission to empower at least 1 billion people around the world to be happy. The world today has a happiness problem, with more people who are stressed and suicidal than ever before, and I want to be a part of the solution to that

problem. Some people may say that this is an unrealistic goal, which is why I've broken it down. My irst goal is to empower 1,000 people with the skills and strategies to be happy and successful, then to empower every member of that group to empower another 1,000 people, who will each then empower another 1,000 people to be happy.

What has been the biggest roadblock during your journey? What has been your biggest learning?

After declaring bankruptcy and losing over $100 million, including the house I had bought for my mom, I had one

single day where I felt like I was at rock bottom. But I was able to rebound after I took stock of my values and what mattered most to me, leaning on the things that my mother taught me (gratitude, empathy, accountability, and inspiration) in order to excel.

Where do you see yourself standing in the coming years?

It's hard to say, especially after the sweeping changes that have happened over the last year, but there is one thing I know for certain. I want to focus on being happy

where I am, angle towards where I think I want to be, and have the faith that I will end up somewhere better.

Finally, what do you think is the most important trait for an entrepreneur and why?

The top performers in all walks of life have one thing in common: they have a desire that they must be what they can be. They consistently (meaning every day) and persistently (without quitting) enjoy pursuing their potential, no matter what area that potential is in.
