Books are alive and well! In fact, the industry is booming with more books being read than ever before. They are so much more a part of life than they used to be. I read a report recently that suggested boys now think reading is ‘cool’, as they can do so on a machine — and, of course, having been hooked in this way, they then move on to enjoy conventional books as well. At Exisle we love them all: ebooks, physical books, lively hardbacks, practical paperbacks, beautifully crafted limited editions, and more. For us, it is neither about the format nor the channel used to reach you. Very sadly many bookstores have closed their doors, but spirited independents are thriving and well-managed chains are again showing strength. And while many bookstores might have closed, many other organisations have begun selling books; for example, we supply many psychology practices with a range they can then profitably on-sell to their associates and clients. We really are happy to help anyone who wants to sell our books find a way, and of course many people come directly to us. However, while we don’t mind how you buy or how you read, we do care an enormous amount that what you buy is a great book and that you receive first-class service. Our range is written by experts in their field who have real passion and serious know-how. Together, our aim is to make the complex accessible but never simplified. Please take a look through our catalogue; we hope you will order from it and enjoy your reading. Yours faithfully Gareth St John Thomas Founder and CEO Exisle Publishing

School Start eBook
Lynn Jenkins
Studies increasingly show that children who have good emotional skills are far better equipped to meet the challenges they will face at school. Among the issues addressed in School Start are helping your children to deal with anxiety, initiating new friendships and coping when things don’t always go to plan, accepting people have different strengths and weaknesses and that they won’t always be ‘the best’ (or ‘the worst’) at things, dealing with teasing and bullying, and developing resilience.
About the Author Lynn Jenkins is a clinical psychologist, author and mother to three young children.
