It’s their turn at the Torah CHEVY CHASE, MD. Charlotte Gottlieb’s hand trembled as she approached the Torah and picked up the pointer, prepared to read from the sacred scroll before her congregation for the first time. She had practiced the Hebrew words for months and had waited to celebrate her bat mitzvah her entire life. Not just 13 years, like most Jewish children. Ninety-three years. For Gottlieb and the two other elderly women who shared a bat mitzvah service in Chevy Chase, Md., on Saturday morning, the religious milestone was not a coming-of-age ceremony, the typical purpose of a bat mitzvah. It was a capstone — the fulfillment of a lifelong commitment to Judaism. Charlotte Markowitz, 85, Sy Laufe, 90, and Gottlieb came of age before Jews extended the tradition of a Torah service to mark the beginning of religious adulthood to girls as well as boys. When these women were adolescents, the idea of celebrating their bat mitzvahs was unimaginable. Instead, they watched their

brothers’ services. When they became Jewish mothers — synagogue volunteers, keepers of kosher kitchens, hosts of every holiday — they watched their children’s and grandchildren’s bar and bat mitzvah services. On Saturday, it was their children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren watching the three of them as they proudly read aloud from the Torah at last. “Every time I have attended a bar or bat mitzvah service, I have

had the yearning for the same experience,” Gottlieb said. “The feeling that something was missing from my life was with me.” The prayer service on Saturday in which the three women spoke and read from the Torah scroll for the first time was deeply bittersweet. There were supposed to be four bat mitzvahs, not three. The idea for a group bat mitzvah for women who could not have one as youths originated with Barbara Solan. Solan put together the foursome, helped hire a cantor to prepare them and studied Hebrew diligently for months. Two weeks before the ceremony, she died unexpectedly at age 87. Before her death, Solan had wanted to do two things, her daughters said: celebrate her bat mitzvah and cast a vote for the first female president. Speaking to a reporter in April when the bat mitzvah service was still a month away, Solan said she came up with the idea of an adult bat mitzvah for women of her generation after many conversations with her peers. “I met all these women who seemed to have been deprived of having a bat mitzvah,” she said. “I don’t want to be left out of anything.” JULIE ZAUZMER (THE WASHINGTON POST)

Want warm? Just head up to Alaska Our rainy streak is history, but the chilly weather keeps coming. Late Sunday and early Monday, the mercury dipped to 37 degrees in Dulles and Baltimore, tying record lows from 1984 (at Dulles on May 14) and 1973 (at BWI on May 15). Another frosty point: The average high last week (May 9 to 15) in D.C. was just 67 degrees, while Fairbanks, Alaska, averaged 72. During that stretch, Fairbanks soared above 80 degrees (on Saturday, setting a record), something D.C. has yet to accomplish this month. (THE WASHINGTON POST)

D.C. preps for Zika threat

BALTIMORE

Police officer testifies for prosecution in Gray case

REGION Like a lot of pregnant women, Christine Kaineg carries a bag of supplies to get her through the day: Kind granola bars, a big bottle of Tums and, a new staple — mosquito repellent. At almost eight months pregnant, the mom-to-be has read about babies being born with severe brain abnormalities in Brazil and other countries, where birth defects have been linked to the mosquito-borne Zika virus. With mosquito season now underway in the D.C. region, Kaineg isn’t taking any chances. “I know it’s not in the area,” said Kaineg, who lives in Alexandria and works for a federal contractor. “But I also don’t want to be Patient A at such a critical time in my life.” Apparently a lot of Washington-area residents are taking precautions. Mosquito-control companies across the region say business is booming. Kevin Wilson, chief executive of Mosquito Joe, said the company’s locations in the south, where mosquito season started this winter, have reported more than a 50 percent jump in new customers compared to last spring. Mosquito Joe franchises in the Washington area have seen a 32 percent increase. “The real sign will be in June and July, when the kids are out of school and start getting bit,” Wilson said. “That’s when we’ll see the uptick in volume. I can’t image it this year, when the kids are getting bit, and all people are thinking about now is Zika.” Public health officials say there’s good reason for concern. The Asian tiger mosquito,

the most common species in the region, has been found to carry Zika in other countries. Moreover, experts say, local mosquitoes are revving up just as summer vacations are set to begin, and the Washington area typically sees robust travel to the Caribbean and Latin America — all places with locally transmitted Zika. While there have been no confirmed cases of mosquito-transmitted Zika in the continental U.S., officials say, the start of the mosquito season in early May has significantly increased the chances in the Washington area. Moreover, the record-breaking string of rainy days has left behind soggy yards — prime environments for mosquitoes to lay hundreds of eggs. Local health officials say they don’t want to spread alarm, but they are urging pregnant women and everyone else to help prevent Zika by ridding their yards of standing water and wearing mosquito repellent daily.

Safety tips Here’s what experts recommend to protect yourself from mosquitoes and prevent any spread of Zika: Empty water from outside pots, toys, even upturned garbage lids. Mosquitoes can lay more than 100 eggs in a single bottle cap of water. Make sure windows and doors have screens, and check them for holes. Everyone, including pregnant women, should wear mosquito repellent regularly, particularly during the day, when the Asian tiger mosquito is most active. (TWP)

“We don’t know if it will ever come to our local mosquito population, but we do know if it does come, bad things can happen, so we want to prepare for the worst,” said Dr. David Goodfriend, director of the Loudoun County Health Department. “If all that comes out of it is fewer people get bitten, that’s a good thing. And if it does come

here, [prevention efforts] will be critical.” As of May 11, the continental U.S. had 503 confirmed Zika cases, including four in D.C., 16 in Maryland and 15 in Virginia, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All have been people who had traveled to Zika-affected countries. Until this month, the D.C.-area cases weren’t considered a public health threat because there were so few mosquitoes around to spread the virus. Now that the Asian tiger mosquito has taken flight, concern is mounting, particularly for pregnant women. Jackie Ross, who’s five months pregnant, said she and her Capitol Hill neighbors plan to hire a mosquito control company to spray all of their yards. She said she’ll also wear long sleeves and pants all summer. “Usually we have people over and hang out outside,” Ross said, “but I don’t think we’ll be doing that this summer.” KATHERINE SHAVER (THE WASHINGTON POST)

A Baltimore police officer on Monday testified that a colleague who faces criminal charges in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray wasn’t involved in the man’s detention and only touched Gray after he’d been placed in handcuffs. local Chairman: City could save $165M compared to the mayor’s proposal THE DISTRICT A super majority of the D.C. Council on Monday said it will overhaul Mayor Muriel Bowser’s plan to lease private property for homeless shelters, calling it a waste of tax dollars that would not permanently solve a growing epidemic of homeless families. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson released legislation backed by nine of the council’s 13 members

that would jettison roughly half of the sites the mayor wants to lease from private landowners. Instead, the city would build five shelters on public land and empower the mayor to purchase or use eminent domain to take control of two others. The city would save about $165 million compared to the mayor’s plan, Mendelson said. While the council’s plan aims to accomplish the same goal of closing the District’s troubled megashelter at the former D.C. General hospital, it marks a major reversal and repudiation of

Bowser’s approach. A spokesman for the mayor did not immediately return a request for comment. An examination of Bowser’s $660-million plan found problems on many levels. The city would have paid in excess of market rate for several properties based on flawed assumptions about realestate and construction costs. Some of the contracts would have enriched political donors to the mayor. And one proposed site would have homeless children living next to a party venue. AARON C. DAVIS (THE WASHINGTON POST)

U.S. to arm Libyan forces World powers agree to embargo exemption to aid fight against ISIS MILITARY In a move fraught with risk, the U.S. and other world powers said Monday they would supply Libya’s internationally recognized government with weapons to counter the Islamic State and other militant groups gaining footholds in the chaos-wracked country’s lawless regions. The U.S., the four other permanent U.N. Security Council

members and more than 15 other nations said they would approve exemptions to a United Nations arms embargo to allow military sales to Libya’s “Government of National Accord.” With support from all five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, the plan is unlikely to face opposition. In a joint communique, the nations said that while the broader embargo will remain in place, they are “ready to respond to the Libyan government’s requests for training and equipping” forces. The communique was issued at the end of the talks that gathered

Clinton: A 2-for-1 presidency Bill’s economic legacy seen as a key asset to a Hillary administration

WASHINGTONPOST.COM ANIMALIA

Dear tourists: Please leave nature alone JUSTIN SULLIVAN (GETTY IMAGES)

POLITICS The notion of a 2-for-1 Clinton presidency is back. Recalling sunnier days of growth, low unemployment and budget surpluses under her husband, Hillary Clinton told Americans in a smoky diner in Paducah, Ky., on Monday that Bill Clinton will take the lead on the economy if she wins the White House. What his work would be remains unclear: not a cabinet post, she indicated. But in some way, he’d be “in charge of revitalizing the economy.” Bill Clinton reigned over a strong economy, especially in the final years of his presidency, yet his economic legacy is mixed. The late 1990s were the last period to see sustained income gains for the typical American household. Middle-income wages have stagnated since then. But his refusal to step up regulation of exotic financial instruments known as derivatives was blamed in large measure for the collapse of the financial sector years later. The tech bubble of his time burst. And his agenda was driven by support for free trade deals, including one that gave China better access to the U.S. market, that are held responsible by elements of both parties for driving jobs out of the country. The situation is unusual: Not only would Clinton be the first

Bill Clinton is scheduled to campaign for Hillary Clinton at seven stops over the next 10 days.

president to have a “First Dude,” she’d also be the first to have a former president in the East Wing. Now, facing a two-front fight against Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, she’s stressing that Bill Clinton would be an asset in her administration, particularly with the kind of Southern white voters who once backed him but now are drawn to Trump. The GOP front-runner and his team are making a different political bet. They see Bill Clinton’s history of scandal as ripe for exploitation. Spokesman Nick Merrill said Clinton would be getting ahead of herself to talk about “any sort of formalized role for anyone.” But, he added, Bill Clinton “has a lot to offer and it would be foolish not to use that in some capacity.”

The Clintons have long viewed themselves as a joint package. Shortly after entering the White House, Clinton appointed his wife to head the administration’s effort to pass a major health care bill. The failed measure became known as “Hillarycare.” But as the party has shifted to the left during the Obama administration, Hillary Clinton repeatedly found herself forced to repudiate key pieces of her husband’s legacy during her primary campaign, including the North American Free Trade Agreement, the federal law that defined marriage as between one man and one woman, and the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that banned gays and lesbians from military service. But her campaign is calculating that in the general election, Bill

Clinton’s strong economic record outweighs the criticism. Late in Clinton’s presidency, unemployment dropped to 3.9 percent, its lowest level since 1970. It’s 5 percent now — and he set a record in monthly job growth. Growth averaged 3.8 percent, better than the record under Ronald Reagan and a far cry from the 0.5 percent last quarter. In Paducah, Clinton was surrounded by people who recalled previous visits by the Clintons. Bill Clinton campaigned in the town right before the 1992 election that made him president. Joanne Clark, 54, exclaimed that she had shaken hands with Bill Clinton years ago. “He’s gotta get out of retirement!” replied Hillary Clinton. LISA LERER AND CATHERINE LUCEY (AP)

Earth’s streak of record-warm months expands to seven as of April

The weather at Yellowstone National Park on May 9 was fairly temperate: The low was 39 degrees; the high was 50. Nevertheless, when two tourists saw a baby bison, they decided it looked cold and needed to be rescued. So they loaded it in the back of their car and drove it to a ranger station. Over the weekend, their action was widely mocked online as evidence of extreme anthropomorphism, not to mention stupidity. On Monday, the park revealed that it was also deadly — for the bison. The newborn calf had to be euthanized, the park said in a statement, because its mother had rejected it as a result of the “interference by people.” The bison’s death was the latest in a seemingly unending parade of incidents that underscore the foolishness of approaching, feeding, taking selfies with — or, in this case, trying to help — wildlife. The park’s statement emphasized that these interactions can be dangerous and illegal. Charissa Reid, a Yellowstone spokeswoman, said in an interview Monday that the tourists found the bison in the middle of a road and tried, unsuccessfully, to make it move. Reid said the tourists had been given a ticket for $110, and the National Parks’ Investigative Service is considering further charges. KARIN BRULLIARD

Any use of smokeless tobacco at Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Giants and Dodgers home games has been illegal since opening day.

THREE POINTERS

Nats chew on new ban

Players question law against chewing ahead of first series in tobacco-free Citi Park BASEBALL The Nationals will begin a three-game series at the Mets’ Citi Field today, their first visit since the New York City Council banned the use of smokeless tobacco at ticketed sporting events in March. Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles passed similar laws before the 2016 season. Chicago did as well, but its ban does not go into effect until June. Smokeless tobacco use — commonly referred to as “dip” or “chew” — has a long association with baseball, and many players still partake. The 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement prohibits majorleague players and coaches from using smokeless tobacco during televised interviews and appearances, and from carrying tobacco

products on their person during games. But because of the new laws, any use of smokeless tobacco at Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Giants and Dodgers home games has been illegal since opening day. That can raise questions for visiting clubs during their first trips to cities with bans. “I haven’t heard about anything; have you heard anything? When they bust you, do they keep it a secret, or … ?” Nationals manager Dusty Baker asked Saturday. Anyone over the age of 18 can legally buy and use smokeless tobacco, and though the Citi Field ban extends to fans as well, more than one Nationals player pointed out that the ban holds players to a different standard than the average American. “If they want to say, ‘Keep it

out of your back pocket; keep it hidden’ just so it’s not on TV, I’m all for it,” Nationals first baseman Clint Robinson said. “I don’t want to promote it, because it is a disgusting habit. I wish I didn’t do it, but I do. So I’m not really a big fan of being told I can’t. But it is a rule. And I will adhere to it.” Two other Nationals who didn’t want to be quoted brought up how smokeless tobacco does not harm anyone but the user. Others pointed out the bans are being implemented in stadiums where the advertisements and sales of alcohol are widespread. “I guess my thought on it is if you want to ban something that’s completely legal, you might as well ban sugar and all the other fattening foods they sell in the ballpark, too,” closer Jonathan

Papelbon said. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who signed the city’s ban into law just before the 2016 baseball season began, told ESPN that “young people look up to baseball players.” Nationals shortstop Danny Espinosa, who dips regularly, expressed frustration with that line of thinking. “I never once as a kid looked at a major league baseball player and thought, ‘He’s chewing; I want to chew too,’ ” Espinosa said. “I looked at Gary Disarcina and Derek Jeter and all these great shortstops, and never once did I think, ‘Oh man, that guy chews. I want to chew like him.’ It was, ‘I like the way he plays, I want to play like him.’ ” CHELSEA JANES (THE WASHINGTON POST)

Third line an offseason priority for the Capitals

verbatim

“I want to play. Trust me, I want to. If I could, I would. … Whether it’s by next week or a year from now, I don’t know.”

CAPITALS Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan said Monday that building a more offensive third line will be among his priorities this offseason. Speaking to reporters for the first time since the Capitals’ second-round playoff exit against the Penguins last week, MacLellan said he would like to see more stability at the third-line center position. “I don’t think we found the permanent solution throughout the year,” MacLellan said. “It seemed to keep changing on us.” Jay Beagle, Marcus Johansson and Mike Richards all spent time centering the third line during the regular season, with Richards emerging as the third-line center for much of the postseason. “It’s a tough role to fill,” MacLellan said. “There are a couple of free agents that could fill that role, but I don’t know … that we’ll able to afford them. Maybe we’ll have to start within.” Beagle and Johansson remain options, although MacLellan said he prefers the versatile Johansson playing wing. MacLellan listed prospect Chandler Stephenson as another possibility, but added that he may not be ready just yet. Richards (two goals and five points in 51 games, including

playoffs) is set to become an unrestricted free agent and it seems unlikely he will return. “It’s turned into a top-nine league,” MacLellan said. “I don’t know that we had a pure top nine. Maybe we had a top eight or a top seven-and-a-half, but I think we were a little short on the top nine.” Jason Chimera provided plenty of offense to the third line this past season, tying a career high with 20 goals, but the 37-year-old is also a free-agent-to-be. he would like to return. “I still believe firmly that this team could win a Stanley Cup, and it still has a special feeling,” he said. “You put a lot into it with these guys, and if they win a Stanley Cup next year and I’m not part of it, I’ll go into a deep depression for a couple weeks probably.” MacLellan said there’s a chance that the club re-signs Chimera, but that the immediate priority is negotiating with restricted free agents Johansson, Tom Wilson and Dmitry Orlov. Cousins remains optimistic about a long-term deal REDSKINS Despite a desire on both sides to get a long-term deal done, the Redskins and Kirk Cousins have yet to make significant progress. Cousins in March signed a one-year franchise player tender, which will pay him just less than $20 million. If the Redskins don’t reach a long-term deal by July 15, Cousins will play on the one-year franchise player contract. General manager Scot McCloughan isn’t concerned by the approaching deadline. “It’s a big contract, and a position that’s very important to us, and he wants to be in the organization,” McCloughan said Monday at Ryan Kerrigan’s annual golf tournament to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “We’re going to figure it out. If it’s not done by July 15, don’t worry. We’ll still get something figured out.” McCloughan said talks between the team and Cousins’ agent, Mike McCartney, remain ongoing. The GM doesn’t like letting his stars hit free agency. Last year, the Redskins signed Kerrigan and left tackle Trent Williams to extensions before their contracts expired. Two weeks ago, they gave tight end Jordan Reed an extension so he doesn’t become a free agent after the 2016 season. Cousins said Monday he isn’t worried about the situation. “I’ve just tried to focus on letting my play do the talking and let the team and my agent do the rest,” he said. fit fit Flow Yoga turned its P Street NW studio into a workspace that focuses on wellness.

WELLNESS At 12:15 p.m. on a recent Wednesday, about 20 people settled into reclined positions on their yoga mats, leaning against bolsters. The group took some deep breaths before moving into poses such as cat-cow and downwardfacing dog. The movements were designed to counter the tightness in their necks, shoulders, hips and backs from hunching over a desk. Forty-five minutes later, they went back to work — most of them upstairs in a yoga studio turned shared workspace. They’re members of WorkFlow, a month-old program at Flow Yoga Center in Logan Circle that provides an alternative work environment from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, including standing desks, reclining workstations, scheduled meditation and yoga breaks, and WiFi. A monthly membership costs $90, or $70 if you have a

class pass. The meditations are guided and vary in type — mindful meditation, breath work and yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, based on what the group needs that day. “The other day, we subbed out our meditation break for a handstand break instead, because inversions are better than coffee,” said Catherine Zack, the center’s wellness director. Initially, Flow co-founder Debra Mishalove hesitated to use the space for work. But the building was vacant most of the day. “We had this beautiful building

here on P Street, next to the Whole Foods and Logan Circle, that’s like Grand Central Station in the early morning, evening and weekends but during the day wasn’t getting utilized,” Zack said. “We thought the answer is probably not more yoga classes. What are people doing during the hours of 9 to 5? They’re working.” WorkFlow comes as federal telework policies and flexible work schedules across sectors have created a market for shared workspaces — and changed what a workspace looks like. from wellness programs — studies show that companies save $3 for every $1 they invest in health programs — places that offer co-working can’t reap the same rewards. Still, the return on investment comes in other ways, such as retaining members. Shared workspaces company MakeOffices, which has five local locations and two coming soon, made health a priority this year in an effort to differentiate itself from competitors, said Shana Glenzer, its chief marketing officer. The company provides fruit, massage therapists, relaxation rooms with massage chairs, and on-site fitness center access — all as part of the month-to-month leases, which start at $550 for private offices and $250 for open desks. “It’s just more comfortable, more relaxed” than a regular office building, said Kiran Uppin, chief operating officer at ASAP Firewatch, which leases space at the Tysons Corner MakeOffices “A relaxed environment definitely makes you do better work.” STEPHANIE KANOWITZ

Excess weight gain and high blood sugar during pregnancy can lead to large babies predisposed to childhood obesity. But what about children born within a normal weight range? In a 10year study of 24,000 mothers and their children, published in Maternal and Child Health Journal, normal-birthweight kids ages 2 to 10 whose mothers gained more than 40 pounds during pregnancy were at least 15 percent more likely to be obese or overweight than kids whose mothers did not. Normal-birthweight children whose moms had high blood sugar during pregnancy had a greater risk of obesity as well; those whose mothers had gestational diabetes had at least a 30 percent greater risk. “It appears the baby is adapting to an overfed environment,” lead author Teresa Hillier said in a news release.

My skin is thin, my pain is deep

Q. Since childhood, when people criticize me in the slightest, it shatters me inside. The only person I don’t worry about is my husband, because I know he loves me regardless of whether I make mistakes. Recently a co-worker gave critical feedback on a project I’d been working on, and I feel like I was stabbed in the gut. I know this is not normal. MORE FRAGILE THAN I WANT TO BE There’s a spectrum of how people take criticism, from the people who relish it to those who deflect it to those who are debilitated by the most superficial and loving of disagreements. The intensity and duration of this for you makes me think you could use more systematic, significant work on it, preferably with the support of a professional.

Maybe it’s a fear of conflict, or a deeper lack of self-worth — a feeling that you don’t measure up and never will. Or maybe you’ve never let yourself grow into an independent voice that’s allowed to be her own yardstick and call the shots sometimes. A good therapist can help you get to the bottom of it and, most important, make some changes.

Yes, you are not alone! We can curse technology or bemoan how “busy” everyone is now. Instead, though, I say treat it like you would any other personal preference in dating, like a taste for artsy types or a distaste for Eagles fans. Use it to weed people out, by acknowledging it outright in your initial communications, whether online or in person: “I feel like it’s hard for people to meet up these days, while I’m always itching to go out and do things. What kind of stuff do you like to do?” If there’s someone you like, by all means, express your desire to get together with them — this week. If it’s considered holding their feet to the fire to actually see someone you’re “seeing,” then so be it — they’re someone to be weeded out. Kelly vs. Trump, tonight on Fox get into what happened between the two of us over the past nine months.”

TELEVISION Over the course of this presidential campaign, Megyn Kelly has been called a few choice names by Donald Trump. A one-sided feud began last summer when the Fox News Channel host asked him a sharp debate question about his “temperament” and history of disparaging remarks about women. The next day, Trump groused that Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.” Similar comments went on for months. Looking to quash the drama — and, no doubt, score high television ratings along the way — Kelly invited the presumptive GOP nominee to sit down with her as part of a special, “Megyn Kelly Presents,” which will air at 8 p.m. tonight on Fox.

The law, which bans transgender people from using public restrooms that do not match the gender assigned on their birth certificates, has caused musicians Bruce Springsteen and Bryan Adams to cancel events in the state. Instead of canceling, Grace opted to use the concert as a platform to raise awareness about trans rights, saying, “Goodbye, gender” as her birth certificate burned.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20) You may be putting together a fine plan, but if you haven’t done all of your prep work, it’s likely to fall apart. GEMINI (May 21-June 20) Take care that you don’t make any premature decisions. You cannot afford to put anyone in danger because of a simple oversight. CANCER (June 21-July 22) It’s a good day for you to give someone a little bit of what he or she has given you in recent days. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) You’re likely to realize something that, to you, makes all the difference — and indeed, things will be looking up very soon. MONDAY’S SOLUTION

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) Others

are concerned that you may not be fully prepared for what lies ahead, but you’ve been doing your homework all along. You’re ready.

MONDAY’S SOLUTION

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) You’ll get a firsthand look at the ins and outs of a business you actually know very little about. SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) The faster you can remove yourself from a situation that is causing you pain, the sooner you will begin to recover. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) Falling down is not the problem; it’s getting back up — which takes not only more energy, but also more planning.

FOUR RACK TOTAL Make a 2-7-letter word from the letters in each row. Add points of each word using scoring directions at right. Seven-letter words get a 50-point bonus. Blank tiles used as any letter have no point value. Scrabble is a trademark of Hasbro in the U.S. and Canada.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) You may sense that someone is looking over your shoulder. This may well be the case, but you have nothing to fear right now.

TODAY: This day is similar to so many others we’ve seen over the past few weeks. Skies are overcast for much of the day, and light winds from the northeast keep temperatures far below normal, with highs struggling to reach 60. Tonight is overcast with rain and drizzle. Temperatures hold in the 50s.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) You must remember to take care of yourself, no matter how busy you get. In fact, the busier you are, the greater care you must take. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) It’s a good idea to keep your thoughts to yourself, at least until you realize you are the only one who can solve a certain problem.
