Brothers of Charity Services Galway & Ability
Room For One More— More—Master Class Setting up a Home Sharing and Contract Family Scheme Home Sharing is where a child or adult with a disability is offered a short break with a Host Family in the community. It links the person to another local family who is specifically recruited and trained for this purpose. This model of service provides greater choice to participants and can significantly enhance their quality of life. Home Sharing has the potential to be more cost effective than traditional respite and is in keeping with government strategy regarding individualised supports for people with disabilities.
