Basketball Training Summer Program

About Us Italy combines an enormous cultural artistic heritage with the hospitality of its people and their passion for sport.

For Colleges and Universities we offer two program options:

ExSport was born with the aim of creating travel experiences that encompass these characteristics, planning holidays that can offer an emotional journey for all those who, while indulging their passion for sport, can also immerse themselves in the history, culture and nature of one of the most fascinating countries in the world.

• educational and sport training summer program: the program combines sport training sessions held by team's coaches in professional sport facilities, friendly matches and tournaments, with Italian language and culture courses held by the highly qualified staff of the Accademia Lingua Italiana of Assisi, one of the most famous Italian language and culture schools in the world.

All US College and University students are eligible to receive credits.

ExSport organizes sport training summer programs for youth teams, high school and university teams, The programs take place in Umbria and Tuscany, two of the most beautiful regions of Italy; all the locations are chosen in order to guarantee a relaxed, exciting and safe travel experience.

Soccer, tennis, volleyball, golf, basketball and swimming for both male and female teams; a total immersion in sport, to compete in friendly matches and tournaments while at the same time learning about the culture and charm of our unique country.

Thanks to collaborations with tourist guides and hospitality professionals, our programs are not limited to just the practice of sport, but are a collection of activities that allow for a full 100% travel experience.

Norcia The Basketball Training Program, available for male and female teams, takes place in the city of Norcia, located in the most mountainous and picturesque corner of Umbria, in the area of Monti Sibillini National Park.

It preserves intact the reminders of its Roman and Medieval past; Norcia has many environmental, artistic, gastronomic and cultural resources that make it both attractive and unique in the eyes of all visitors.

Known as the homeland of St. Benedict, First Patron Saint of Europe, and renowned for its profound spirituality, Norcia is one of the main destinations for those who value unspoiled nature, sports, tranquility and high quality of life.

Sporting Club Salicone

The Sporting Club Salicone is the headquarter of the Basketball Training Program, available for both male and female teams.

The Sporting Club Salicone hosts training sessions for professional soccer, basketball and volleyball teams, in addition to Italian national teams programs for volleyball, basketball, fencing and soccer camps of Arsenal FC. Friendly matches and tournaments will be arranged with the best professional area teams.

Facilities: regular size natural grass soccer field, a natural grass mini-soccer field, indoor and outdoor pool, sports arena with 3 basketball and volleyball courts and fitness gym.

There are two hotels inside the compound where teams will be accommodated.

The complex is located 200 meters from one of the most ancient city gates of Norcia, splendidly set in the Mount Sibylline national Park, rich in sights and unforgettable panoramic views, as well as noteworthy attractions for tourists visiting Umbria, enough to make it a lively center rich in culture, where program’s participants can immerse themselves in an absolutely safe and peaceful environment.

Language & Cultural Activities Language and cultural activities are run by the Accademia Lingua Italiana di Assisi (the Italian Language Academy of Assisi), one of the most famous Italian language schools in the world.

It was established in 1993 by the current Course Director, Prof. Angelo ChiuchiĂš. Each year the school welcomes students, professionals, artists and cultural experts from all over the world.

The Academy is located in the heart of Assisi, it is recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education and it is linked to a number of universities from the United States (University of the Pacific, Neumann University, Elon University) as well as with the University for Foreigners in Siena.

The courses use a communicative-situational approach and audio-visual aids to teach basic Italian structures and vocabulary, leading to a suitable level of competence in spoken Italian. The teachers are university educated and specialists in teaching Italian to foreign students. The teaching methods aim to involve students of all abilities, allowing them to communicate in reallife situations. There is a maximum of 15 people in each class.

All US Colleges and Universities students are eligible to receive credits. The credits will normally be transferable to most American Colleges and Universities. Please contact the registrar office of your University or College and ask whether they can grant credits for our courses directly. If it is not possible, you can enroll in our courses through Accademia’s partner Neumann University.

Language and Italian Culture classes will be held in the meeting rooms of Sporting Club Salicone.

ROME. Known worldwide as ÂŤThe Eternal CityÂť, Rome has a unique artistic and cultural heritage.

From the sites of Imperial Rome to the spirituality and grandeur of the Vatican City, take an exciting journey through the history and atmosphere of this glorious city. Two days of guided visits and some free time for an unforgettable experience.

SIENA. A UNESCO World Heritage site, this city is famous throughout the world for the Palio which takes place twice a year, (2nd July and 16th August) , thrilling the people of Siena and tourists alike.

Our itinerary reveals the beauty of a city steeped in history, charm and sights such as the Gothic Duomo of Saint Domenico, the delightful streets full of atmosphere and the splendour of the Piazza del Campo.

FLORENCE. Florence is a not-to-be-missed destination on a trip to Italy. Places such as the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Della Signoria, Piazza Santa Croce, the Duomo with its renowned Giotto bell tower, the Uffizi Gallery and numerous others, offer testimony of a dynamic city, full of life and ready to welcome visitors wishing to enjoy the artistic heritage concentrated within the historic centre.

ASSISI. The city of Saint Francis and a UNESCO World Heritage site, Assisi is nestled in the hills of Umbria and is famous throughout the world. Our guided tour allows you to admire the Roman ruins and the charm of a medieval city with all its treasures still intact, such as the Basilica of Saint Francis, the Temple of Minerva, the Basilica of Saint Claire and stupendous views.

Information and Rates

Please note that our tours are customized according to specific needs of the groups.

Tour prices are generally dependent on features like group size, tour duration, number of friendly matches and guided tours.

Our standard program has a duration of two weeks and plans full day excursions to Rome (with overnight), Florence, Siena and Assisi. All our guided tours will be led by professional tourist guides. Transfers will be arranged by bus. For full day excursions packed lunch will be provided.

The educational and sport program also includes three hours per day of italian language and culture course held by Accademia Lingua Italiana Assisi; the detailed program of the course will be arranged according to the duration of the tour.Lessons will be held in Norcia in the Salicone Sporting Club meeting rooms, also available for video analysis of the friendly matches and training sessions; our video operator will be available on coaches request.

full board accommodation in three stars hotel in the Sporting Club Salicone; Italian Language and Culture course ( for the educational and sport program); access to all sport facilities of the training center during free time (swimming pools, gym..); transport to / from Rome Fiumicino International Airport / program location; bus transport and guided full day excursions to Rome (with overnight), Florence, Siena and Assisi; hiking guided excursion in the Monti Sibillini National Park; bus transport to friendly matches locations; packed lunch for full day excursions.

It is very important that you ensure that you have adequate travel insurance coverage for all the members of your group. You are travelling on a sports tour and some of the elements required may not be covered by certain policies, including the provision for medical coverage for accidents and injuries sustained while taking part in team sports on tour.
