12 Apostles One of the most well-known highlights of the Great Ocean Road is The Twelve Apostles. Situated in the Port Campbell National Park, the massive limestone structures that tower 45 metres above the tempestuous Southern Ocean, leave its visitors awe-struck in wonder at their size and beauty. Behind the eight remaining stacks (five have fallen since their discovery) are majestic cliffs, around 70 metres high. Take 86 steps down to the beach below to be dwarfed by this vertical cliff line and walk along the beach to the enormous offshore rock stacks â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Gog and MaGog.

Loch Ard Gorge Stand on top of the cliff and you'll be amazed at the sheer size of the cliffs and the narrow opening out to sea at the Loch Ard Gorge. In rough weather the crashing waves put on quite a show.

Calls of the cicada resonate across the water between the massive sandstone cliffs while you cruise down the First and Second Gorges listening to stories about how the Gorge came to be named. The sheer walls of the Gorge, etched by time and the elements, are home to a myriad of plant and animal life, much of it unique to this area and all playing a role to the lives of its traditional owners. A walk of approximately 700 meters over rocky terrain is required in both directions between the First and Second Gorges. It is suggested a good level of mobility is required to participate in this excursion.. After the end of the cruise, return to train, enjoy lunch on board, and continue your journey to Darwin. The combination of mangrove fringed coastal areas, expansive flood plains, lowland hills, open woodland and forest habitats make Kakadu one of the most diversified landscape and eco-system in the world. Marval at the concentration of rock art sites that illustrates aboriginal cultural back to 5000 years. Your Kakadu National Park tour will be highlighted by visiting to Noulangie, the ancient rock paintings, Yellow Water Billabong Cruise for spotting thousands of birds, salt water crocodiles, birds and plants, and also Waradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn about the lives of traditional custodians. Kings Canyon Drive through sandhill country towards Kings Canyon, stopping for a break at Kings Creek Station along the way. Continue on to Watarrka National Park where you can make the rocky climb with your guide to the rim of Kings Canyon and be rewarded with marvellous views of sheer cliffs, broken cracks, lost city, ocean bed ripples, Eden of Garden, The climb may take up to 3.5 hours and is for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulderstrewn canyon floor, an easier walk. This is more suitable for seniors, or people with walking difficulties, heart disease, high blood pressure or any other medical conditions. After lunch at Kings Canyon Resort (own expense), drive back to Ayers Rock with a stop over at the Outlook for Mt Conner and Amadeus Salt Lake. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your accommodation in Ayers Rock Resort.

Alice Springs - Darwin Explore West MacDonelle ranges after breakfast. Travelling through the beautiful ranges, your tour guide will take you to Simpsons Gap, magical Standley Chasm ( Angkerle), Take a short walk to admire the unique landscape and listen to tour guide for commentaries about plants and animals. Enjoy a light lunch at Standley Chasm after taking back to Alice Springs. Later this afternoon, you will be transported to Alice Springs Airport for flight to Darwin. Darwin - Kakadu National Park - Darwin Traveling along the Marrakai Plains, enjoy beautiful tropical monsoon rain forest, and wetlands along the Arnhem Highway until you reach Kakadu National Park, Australia's largest National Park listed as the world heritage for both of its Natural and Cultural values. The combination of mangrove fringed coastal areas, expansive flood plains, lowland hills, open woodland and forest habitats make Kakadu one of the most diversified landscape and eco-system in the world. Your Kakadu National Park tour will be highlighted by visiting to Noulangie, the ancient rock paintings, Yellow Water Billabong Cruise for spotting thousands of birds, salt water crocodiles, birds and plants, and also Waradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn about the lives of traditional custodians. A buffet lunch is included at Cooinda. Transfer back to Darwin and drop off at your hotel at around 19:30. Darwin - Litchfield National Park - Darwin Pick up early from your hotel (7am) , travel along Australia's longest highway ( Stuart Highway), learning about history and tales of the highway by the earlier settlers, you would also spot hundreds of termite mounds along both sides of the highway. Established in 1986, Litchfield National Park is truly a stunning destination. Here you can take in the splendour of thundering falls, rainforest pockets and sacred historic sites for the local custodians of Wagait people. In the Park, you will view the spectacular double waterfalls of Florence Falls, where you could take a dip in the gorgeous plunge pool.
