INNOVATIVE PELLETIZING LINES for RIGID/SOFT PVC Bandera is an Italian renowned leading company in designing and manufacturing complete extrusion lines for pelletizing rigid and soft PVC for different applications. Process core is the twin-screw extruder with increased length (L/D 1:28): the two parallel counter-rotating screws outstand for enhanced production quality (the material inside the extruder is step-by-step plasticized under lower stress conditions), and higher output with high flexibility of material formulation. Bandera counter rotating twinscrews are suitable for the extrusion of both rigid and soft PVC with the same screw profile, at elevated hourly outputs.

New PVC pelletizing lines TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION Parallel, counter-rotating co-penetrating twin-screw extruders for pelletizing and extruding soft and rigid PVC from powders and granules. The extruder features: • Electro-welded steel open-structure base-frame for ease of inspection and access to components. Gear reduction unit, torque distributor with thrust block and forced lubrication by on-board cabinet. • Electronic melt pressure and temperature detecting unit with extruder motor stop device intervention at pre-set pressure threshold. • Safety electronic device for extruder motor stop at gear reduction unit overload (max torque limiter). • Nitrided steel extrusion barrel. As an alternative, corrosion high-resistance bi-metal barrel for heavy duty operation (mineral loaded materials, regenerated materials, etc..) • Barrel heating by special ceramic electrical resistances with dissipator fins, and air cooling by electric fans. • Thermoregulated nitrided steel extrusion screws, with possible antiwear coating by plasma welding. • Barrel withdrawal system for ease of screws and barrel cleaning and inspection. • Dosing systems with variable speed horizontal screw volumetric dosing unit. Extruder-synchronizable dosing speed values. • High efficiency and low power consumption. • Increased hourly output thanks to enhanced highly performing screws. • The same standard screws are suitable for pelletizing both rigid and soft PVC blends with no need for expensive changeovers due to different productions. • Machines are controlled by supervision via Touch Screen Operator Panel or Touch Screen industrial PC. Available control functions: dosing unit, force feeder and pelletizer synchronism with extrusion screws, line interfacing and management via ON-BOARD TOUCH SCREEN INDUSTRIAL PC. Windows licenses are included, together with extruder control software. Automatic backup up to 30-working-day data. The gear reduction unit is composed of a primary and a secondary section, the latter with the function of distributing speed and torque along the two output axis. The gear reduction unit is arranged inside a high quality spheroidal cast iron case to provide stiffness to the frame. axis by a special multi-row stacked bearing pack. Bearings are designed to grant a min life span equal to or higher than 20,000 hours (calculated upon continuous operation at screw max rotation speed and max operating pressure inside the extruder). 3
