It’s always fun to look back at the designs and prototypes I had in the beginning and see how it has evolved over time into something much simpler and better.

What is your favorite issuu core value and how do you live it?

I’d say ownership is probably myfavorite. It’s so important for acompany of our size. Ownershipto me means taking responsibilityand never assuming it’s someoneelse’s problem. If I see somethingthat doesn’t work or doesn’t lookright, I’ll try fixing it myself first.If I can’t, then I’ll find a personwho has the skills to help meget it done.

What has been your biggest challenge this past year?

Without a doubt designing thenew issuu from the bottom up.It definitely wasn’t an easy taskto redesign the core product that

has served us well for almosta decade — and is the reasonwhy we still exists today. It wasespecially tough to think manysteps ahead while designing toensure that all the pieces wouldfit together in the future since wecouldn’t build everything at once.

What part of the new reading experience are you most proud of?

I’m mostly proud of how we’veunified our reading experience.In the past we’ve had differentinterfaces for different browsers— meaning the interface wouldchange depending on whetheror not your browser has Flash.Even though it's being usedby more people all the time, it's
