Media Arts and Technology (MAT) at UCSB is a transdisciplinary MS/PhD graduate program that fuses electronic music, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, and digital art research in theory and practice. Graduate studies in MAT prepare students for leadership roles in research, education, artistic creation, and technology development. Housed in seven laboratories of the California Nanosystems Institute, MAT offers an unparalleled opportunity to work at the frontiers of art, science, and engineering. Facilities include the Allospherea three story high spherical space for experiencing fully immersive interactive, 3D/pluriphonic virtual environments.
