patio series - july 1, 2019 Martin Kerr
Singer/Songwriter "Martin Kerr..what a voice! Pristine, measured and beautiful." - Sarah McLachlan "You had me in tears" - Bruce Cockburn Building his audience from the streets, one passer-by at a time, Martin Kerr has been able to make a living as an independent musician for the last 10 years. With this grassroots support he has been able to achieve things usually out of reach for an independent musician - such as selling out 2 nights at the 1700-seat Winspear Centre, and landing his latest album in the Canada top 10. Often compared to James Taylor and more recently Ed Sheeran (although that might have more to do with his ginger hair and charming English accent) Kerr's storytelling
is guaranteed to cover the whole spectrum of emotions. His latest single ‘You’re Amazing’ has already racked up 200,000 streams since its independent release in October, as well as national airplay across Canada and The Netherlands.
Trioda
World Trioda (Greek for “three songs”) consists of three members: Andriy Gambal, Volodymyr Rybak and Pavlo Chervinskyi. In 2013, the band took part in the show Ukrainian X-factor. On casting in Odessa, they performed an Alexander Ponomariov song "He Waits for her", immediately receiving an invitation to training camp where they were then fast tracked to the direct broadcast. In the super finals, their talents took them to the finale. Since then they’ve toured the United States, participated in concerts in Ukraine in support of the Ukrainian army and victims of the hostilities in Ukraine, toured Spain with Volodymyr Olensky,
sang in Rome at a meeting for Ukraine youth from all across Italy and played at the World Embroidered Day in the Czech Republic in Prague.

patio series - july 3, 2019 Panache
Instrumental Panache (initially “Richard’s Band”) was founded in 1992 by Richard Campion. The members were brought together to play a fundraiser for the construction of the Strathcona Care Centre in Sherwood Park. The band morphed into the "Dixiecats" and played most notably for the Prairie Steam Tours out of Stettler. After acquiring the name Panache the group expanded to play for weddings, anniversaries, dances, and special events. Panache now focusses primarily on swing, dixieland and jazz standards - music from the 20th century. The seven piece band features:
Clayton Braid- trumpet; Ed Bouthilliertenor sax; Jim Jost- alto sax/clarinet; Linda Reinholdt- trombone; Mike Kischuk- tuba; Colin Bonneau - piano; and Harrison Thurgood - drums.
The Hearts
Pop/Rock The Hearts deliver memorable melodies and moody harmonies. What sets them apart is just how naturally their down-to-earth songwriting rests against a dreamy backdrop of custom-made Americana textures - six captivating musicians blending into one unforgettable sound. Spanning four albums, The Hearts’ music has been featured in HBO and MTV productions, received international critical acclaim and charted across Canada. They’ve toured extensively and performed at international festivals including SXSW, Calgary & Edmonton Folk Festivals and Interstellar Rodeo. They’re revered for delivering an exciting live show where they trade, layer and cohere splendidly - mixing equal parts glitter and grit.

patio series - july 10, 2019 Post Script
Singer Songwriter Post Script distills optimistic melancholia by exploring their entwined histories. The striking effervescence of Steph Blais in harmonic unity with Paul Cournoyer's rich baritone creates a conduit for the voices of their francoalbertan roots to resound with the reflection of modern humanity. The guitar pendulum swings from Nashville pulse to crystalline delicacy, weaving the soothing tone of Paul's stand up bass with enigmatic familiarity. Like a lustrous new dress stitched from vintage cloth Post Script is a gasp of nostalgia in a breath of fresh air.
Ayla Brook & the Sound Men
Folk Ayla Brook is one of the truest raw songwriter's on the prairies. From his beginnings in Lily Plain Saskatchewan, to success records recorded with AA Sound System, to now his solo work Ayla has remained tried and true. His new release, "(I Don't Want To Hear Your) Break Up Songs" is exactly that, a tapestry of hurtin' and feelin' tunes about life on and off the barstools. Joined by his regular 5 piece band, The Sound Men, Ayla can be seen packing the dance floors of Alberta honkytonks soaked in wine and whiskey. He's made a name for himself on the road,
6
supporting such diverse acts as Danny Michel, Daniel Romano and the Arkells and is always up for the next great adventure. 2018 saw Ayla Brook & The Sound Men nominated for three Edmonton Music Awards and taking home “Roots Artist of the Year, along with a full summer of folk and indie music festivals.
