hen Kamel Bourgass fatally stabbed Manchester policeman Stephen Oake in January 2003, it became apparent that this was no ordinary incident. Eye Spy visited the scene just hours after the death of this likable officer, and soon noted senior intelligence officials from the security services.

Police officers raided the Manchester bedsit following a surveillance operation and a tip-off from a man being held by Algerian intelligence. The operation was also linked to the discovery of various items found at a flat in the Wood Green area of North London. Kamel Bourgass, a 32-year-old Algerian who also goes by the names of Christopher Hans, Rami Moutaez and Ali, had fled London after it became clear his ill-perceived plot to poison a variety of everyday household items such as toothpaste and handcream, had been compromised.
