A Striking

Georgian COLONIAL

If you would like more information on this property, contact Pat Bolger of Pat Bolger Realty Group. 262-313-8797.

n n n

WHEN A GEORGIAN COLONIAL is built right, it exudes a style of strength and grandeur. This gorgeous Hartland residence in Bristlecone Pines is a perfect example, settled into the rolling hills of the Kettle Moraine.

Couple the home’s stately architecture with a sloping front lawn, rich with mature landscape, and the first word that comes to mind is “Wow”! The greenery becomes a brilliant palette against the red brick home. Authenticity is found in the central gables, multipaned windows, and a dramatic pillared front portico. This prominent entryway brings you to a front door, transom, and sidelights adorned with traditional stained glass.

Attention to authenticity, design, and detail continues with your first step inside the home. Gleaming black walnut floors provide a warm and inviting welcome. A large and airy entryway is flanked by a family room on one side and a formal dining room on the other.

Walk further to find archways and pillars that help define magnificent spaces.

One example is a full bar adjacent to the great room, perfect for entertaining guests. Once in the great room, an extensive wall of 10-foot windows provides a view of the private, and tiered backyard. Let the good times spill over to the back patio, through a set of French doors. An open sightline to the kitchen is broken only by the beauty of a red brick floorto-ceiling hearth. A herringbone insert above the two-way fireplace offers visual interest and an ode to the traditional colonial home.

The kitchen is a work of art. It is a sumptuous combination: whitewashed cabinets against granite with gray and cream tones. A kitchen island in dark wood provides rich contrast and its butcher block top is like a cherry on a sundae, that perfect extra touch. High-end Dacor appliances will please the chef in the family. Kids and guests will find plenty of space

to eat, do homework, or hang out. There is a long breakfast bar at the far end of the kitchen but a favorite spot will undoubtedly be a builtin banquette set under a picture window. Just off the kitchen, a bright sunroom gives you yet another option to relax or have a party.

The dining room has “special occasions” written all over it. The black and white checkerboard floors are classic European design. A coffered ceiling wraps you in a feeling of refinement. The lighting fixtures, with a unique use of smooth and cut crystal, provide an understated elegance.

A traditional spindled staircase leads to the second floor where the master bedroom suite has everything you could think of and more. An inlaid ceiling in the bedroom has indirect lighting with a soft and gentle glow. His and her closets are roomy with extra space for a dresser. The bathroom is like a private spa. The clawfoot soaking tub has a pastoral view. Give yourself an extra dose of pampering in the steam shower. There is premium privacy with his and her water closets. There is also an office on the second floor with built-in walnut shelves, two more bedrooms, two more baths, and a bonus room.

Enjoy almost 4,300 square feet of beautifully appointed living space in this architectural gem and more. There are 1,700 square feet of unfinished basement with egress, just waiting to be developed. Think of an extra family room, billiard room, bedrooms, and bath. You could build out a gym or in-home theater. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination. Finally, this Georgian Colonial showpiece is in a prime location. At the outer edge of Bristlecone Pines, the setting is idyllic with backyard green space as far as the eye can see. And, let’s not forget neighborhood amenities. Access to tennis/pickleball courts and a new state-of-the-art playground with a zip line comes with the HOA. Plus, The Legend at Bristlecone offers a top-rated golf course, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and casual and fine dining for club members.

The good life doesn’t get better than this.

A Georgian Colonial home that is grand yet comfortable, in a peaceful neighborhood with tons of nearby activities.

A Georgian Colonial home was like the British stamp of success, when King George III ruled his burgeoning empire. Three centuries later and a world away, it’s no different. This grand yet comfortable Georgian Colonial in Hartland is an invitation to the good life Lake Country is known for. n

A Tribute to a Friend

Uptown Motor’s Glenn Pentler, was a Driving Force for a Longtime

Family Business

During Exclusively Yours 76 year history, we have become friends with many of our advertisers who are leaders of the Milwaukee area’s foremost family businesses. Uptown Motors is one of those family businesses with a 50 plus year association with Exclusively Yours that has spanned 3 generations of the Pentler family. Glenn joined Uptown in 1978 and drove the business to include Lincoln, Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles at locations in Wauwatosa and Slinger.

Uptown and Exclusively Yours have worked on numerous advertising campaigns over the years ( some offering a different spin on automobile advertising at that time). Glenn would oversee these advertising campaigns, many that would be on location with a variety back drops(settings) that featured Glenn’s Father, Irv Pentler, founder of the dealership in 1946. Glenn was admired and loved by all who knew him, always kind, always a gentlemen.

Foxtown The Residence At

WHEN LAKESIDE DEVELOPMENT COMPANY began planning The Residence at Foxtown in Mequon, Wisconsin, they envisioned creating a unique community that would benefit from the proximity and amenities of Mequon’s downtown area. This type of community had not previously been explored in the area, and the developers imagined the new neighborhood of attractive homes might evolve into a “true community, not just another subdivision,” explained Kyle Zabjek, Real Estate and Account Manager at Lakeside Development Company.

The Residence at Foxtown is located on Weston Drive, just south of Mequon Road, and will consist of 23 new homes oriented in three rows. Currently, 16 of these 23 homes have already been sold. The community was not designed with a specific population of potential buyers in mind, and the developers note that “a diverse group of people” are currently buying the homes, “from young professionals to empty nesters and everyone in between.” For many, according to Zabjek, “…the main common denominator is the desire to no longer want to maintain yards or shovel snow, or people that are downsizing their homes.”

The Foxtown homes, each around 2,000 square feet in size, are constructed with the aim of testing and certification by the Focus on Energy commission following completion. Two different floor plans are offered; home buyers may choose a design that focuses all three of the home’s bedrooms upstairs, and another that features a first-floor primary bedroom. The design offering a centralized group of second-floor bedrooms is optimal for entertaining, with a flowing, more openconcept first-floor layout that connects the kitchen, living room, and dining area. For those buyers who prefer the model with the easily accessible first-floor bedroom, the home’s second floor houses the other two bedrooms, each offering convenient walk-in closets. This floorplan still allows ease of entertaining in its attractive living room and kitchen spaces.

Home buyers will be given the option of adding a lower level as an upgrade during the home’s initial construction process, or as part of an additional buildout. In these cases, the lower level provides 400 square feet or more of living space to the residence, including its egress window. According to Zabjek, “One of the comments that I love hearing is when I host an open

Custom Furniture Made To Order

house, the first comment I get is, ‘Wow, this is so much bigger than it looks from the outside!’”

Lakeside Development Company utilizes standard building materials for their lovely homes; new homeowners are allowed to specially select more custom materials locally based on their individual preferences at the start of the building process. For this process, homeowners work one-on-one with Lakeside Development Company’s project manager.

Landscape hardscaping for the new Residence at Foxtown development is provided by Blaze Landscaping, while Sharper Image provides high-quality landscape maintenance. According to Kyle Zabjek, “Blaze Landscaping provides the landscape design based on what their landscape architects believe would be most beneficial and aesthetically pleasing around each home.” He expressed high regard for the work of Sharper Image as well, stating, “They do a great job keeping the landscape looking great throughout the year, and the roads clear in the winter!”

Zabjek anticipates that the Foxtown development may reach completion by the end of 2025, if it continues to follow its current positive momentum. Lakeside Development Company’s new Thiensville, Wisconsin community, two hundred Green, may be completed after that time as well. Zabjek anticipates that once The Residence at Foxtown is complete, two hundred Green may also gain a similar surge of popularity with individuals who “love the style and efficiency of the homes.”

Currently, Foxtown homes are priced starting at $735,000, but Zabjek indicated that additional upgrades available to potential buyers can raise that price into the $800,000 range. These upgrades allow buyers to “truly make the home unique and customized on the inside,” according to Zabjek. Buyers interested in investing in a home in the two hundred Green community will note that prices of those homes start at $699,000, and a similar appealing array of potential upgrades and selections can be applied to the purchase to customize each home.

For those interested in purchasing one of the new Foxtown homes, a particular appeal of the location is its unique array of enjoyable dining venues, shops and more. The popular Mequon Public Market, with its selection of restaurants, is conveniently located just

north of The Residence at Foxtown. Zabjek noted that nearby local businesses “Foxtown Brewing, The Annex, Foxtown Station and Renard’s are all owned by the same company. They offer a wide range of provisions, seasonal events, brew their own beer, and were just approved to start distilling their own liquor.”

Within a few minutes’ walk from the new Foxtown homes, residents will enjoy accessing a bike shop, coffee shop, flower shop, and butcher shop. A grocery store is also located in close range, and restaurants like Café Hollander, Mr. B’s, a Colectivo coffee shop, and the St. Paul Fish Company offer enticing motivation for new residents to venture out and enjoy the camaraderie of other Mequon residents and visitors.

For Foxtown residents seeking a link to the nature-based activities of the area, Mequon’s Community Park and public pool are accessible via the Interurban Trail that runs directly past The Residence at Foxtown, with its entrance close to the new group of homes. Thiensville’s two hundred Green offers similar access to a range of desirable community activities and offers close proximity to The Village Park. At The Village Park, residents can enjoy a farmers’ market and live music performances in the summer months.

According to Zabjek, The Residence at Foxtown offers “a rare opportunity for people to be involved with the community,” as it is situated in an area without much additional direct room for housing growth. For those seeking a less urban dwelling space, two hundred Green is, in Zabjek’s words, “more of a traditional neighborhood due to the location and surroundings.”

Kyle Zabjek and his fellow team members at Lakeside Development Company look forward to the future of the two new communities, as well as to their positive impact on the lives of new residents. Each group of homes is ideally designed and situated to interact with the existing thriving area businesses and to further expand upon these community connections. In Zabjek’s words, “The development of the Foxtown area inspired The Residence at Foxtown. Foxtown would essentially become Mequon’s ‘downtown’ and have more of an urban feel due to walkability and proximity to all the neighborhood has to offer. This was a unique opportunity and something that had not been done in Mequon in the past.”

Window Coverings To Increase Your SAFETY & STYLE

IT’S TIME TO WELCOME the freshness of the warmer months into our homes and embrace the new season. For many of us, this time of year is a chance to renew and re-organize. Spring and summer cleaning isn’t just about dusting and decluttering; it’s also an opportunity to modernize and improve your living spaces.

This includes updating your window coverings, especially if you have infants or young children. Let’s explore the reasons why switching to cordless window coverings can enhance both the aesthetics and safety of your home.

Hazards of Corded Window Coverings

Traditional corded window coverings may seem harmless, but they pose significant risks, especially in homes with

young children. The dangling cords can become entangled, leading to accidents such as strangulation. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), corded window coverings are one of the top hidden hazards in the home. Find out more from the Window Covering Safety Council. Style Benefits

Save Money with Cordless Window Coverings

Cordless options not only eliminate the risk of entanglement but also offer a sleek, modern aesthetic. Opt for durable materials that can withstand daily wear and tear and choose colors and patterns that complement your existing decor. With cordless window coverings, you can achieve a clean and clutter-free look while ensuring the safety of your loved ones.

Did you know using the right window coverings can help you SAVE money? When selecting cordless window coverings for your home, consider energy-efficient window coverings, which can help you save on energy bills as window attachments help regulate the amount of sunlight and heat that enters and exits a home. With today’s high inflation costs, this is a no-brainer. Find out how you can increase your energy savings and comfort with AERC certified products. n

HAVE YOU EVER taken time to consider what comes first in your list of priorities? According to Webster, a priority is a preference based on urgency, importance or merit. In view of the precarious world situation, what would you consider an urgent priority for yourself as well as for our nation?

In a telephone conversation with a friend, the caller went into detail over her many problems. She concluded with, “I suppose you think I should do some reading along spiritual lines. I’d like to, but I’m just too busy for that kind of thing.”

Too busy for God was the truth of the matter as well as the reason for her unsolved problems. When we make human “busy-ness” our first priority and push aside a recognition and realization of the presence and power of a force greater than man, then we are forced to accept the consequences. When the consequences become overwhelming, when we have reached a so-called dead end, what do we do? We call or shout or scream, “God, come quick! I need help.”

Cults come and go, but the basic principle taught in the first two commandments by the Nazarene carpenter will always be the foundation upon which our world must build. Young as he was, Elihu delivered a profound ultimatum to a rebellious Job when he said, “I would remind thee, that God is greater than man.”

The patriarch Isaiah put his seal upon Elihu’s statement when he urged his people

to find their strength in quietness and in confidence and to “cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” The acceptance of these statements as truth could put our nation back on its feet, could go a long way toward solving our problems, could save us from disaster. For too long we have put our emphasis on the power of man instead of acquainting ourselves with the power of God. We have pyramided man’s power into the unstable structure that has now come crashing down upon us.

A musician doesn’t become a concert pianist in a day or month or year. He practices hours upon hours and, once having reached his goal, he is forced to continue to practice in order to retain it. So it must be with us in our spiritual building. Few people are born with a high spiritual consciousness. They have to practice the presence of God and meditate on the power of God day after day if they would feel God operating in their daily lives. “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it....” said the psalmist. No nation can survive without a spiritual force guiding its people. Crime, prostitution at a teenaged level, cults proclaiming drugs as a religion—surely the time has come for us to pull ourselves out of the filth of the gutter into the purity of a spiritual strength based upon faith in the presence and power of an Invisible Something within us. All we need do is turn within in true humility and make that Something our first priority. n
