This GIS work flow extracts vegetated tree cover from aerial photographs. The green “biomass” layer can be used to assign site ratings to City Open Spaces for shadow and rain water permeability values, for neighborhood storm water management studies, and air pollution studies using the Auer Meteorological Land Use Classification System.
