Make room for safety and focus
For many years, we have collaborated with teachers, students and those responsible for developing the school’s physical environment and gathered knowledge of how well-functioning school settings should look. With a focus on high quality, sustainability and ergonomics, we design attractive school furniture and interior design solutions that not only last a long time, but add value and make a difference for both students and school staff.
By reducing negative distractions in the physical environment and promoting security, students can focus on learning. That’s why we work consciously when designing our interior solutions and choose materials and colours with care, having the type of environment we are furnishing as our starting point. Much of our furniture is available as families, ensuring holistic harmony throughout the school. We base our design on flexibility, multifunctionality and modularity, so your spaces can be customised and changed according to your shifting needs.
In this product overview, we have clearly marked the furniture that is certified in accordance with European standard EN1729-2. Having this label ensures that the furniture meets the extra stringent requirements set for classroom environments. We have also developed our own tests to further ensure good quality. In our own accredited test lab at our head office in Kinnarp, Sweden, we can test our products more than the industry average.
We have a wide range of furniture, featuring our own brands as well as complementary partners – so you get exactly what you are looking for. In this product overview you will find a selection of our products and versions, but your options are even greater. You can choose from a wide range of colours, materials, dimensions and models. We are happy to help you with a needs analysis and advice early on in the process to ensure you get an ideal interior design solution.

People, interior and environment that last over time
For us, sustainability is about creating environments that promote well-being while at the same time preserving natures resources. We help you develop flexible, ergonomic and functional solutions that continue to support you as your needs change. Environments where students and staff thrive and have the right conditions to achieve their full potential. High quality and sustainable material choices are givens in our furniture. We have our production units in Sweden and control over the entire chain. We take responsibility for how our furniture is designed, manufactured and transported. This gives you an investment that lasts for generations.
Circles of Change – Sustainable circularity by Kinnarps offers a new way of using and thinking about sustainable interior design solutions. The concept helps you make sustainable and functional choices from the start and highlights the three most important parameters when it comes to choosing sustainable and circular interior.
The result is an interior design with a low lifecycle cost that is designed according to identified needs and promotes well-being, efficiency and success –while at the same time preserving natures resources.
The concept includes a number of circular services such as workplace analyses for offices, schools and healthcare facilities, inventory, refurbishing, renovations and upgrades to give new life to existing furniture.

Design with purpose
Our design philosophy has been deeply rooted in our DNA since the start in 1942. We create harmony by merging aesthetics and functionality with ergonomics and sustainability. The sweet spot is found where 80 years of experience and knowledge meet curiosity and visionary thinking. The result is something that is timeless, honest and thought out down to the smallest detail. Above all, it’s interior design that is always based on people’s actual needs, abilities and dreams. Furniture and solutions that contribute to well-being and success. Creating design with a purpose continues to be our driving force - for you and the next generation.
Make sustainable choices
1. Map and analyse your needs for a long-term and flexible solution.
2. Choose high-quality furniture that are designed to be able to be renewed.
3. Look for ecolabels and certifications such as FSC® Möbelfakta and OEKO-TEX®
4. Ensure quality and safety – e.g. through European standard EN1729-2 for classrooms.
5. Choose suitable materials and colours that are adapted to your environments.
6. Question how and where the furniture is produced.
7. Look into how the furniture is transported and how the interior is implemented.
8. Be particular in selecting procurement model and evaluation parameters.
9. Set qualitative sustainability requirements for both new and reused furniture.
Kinnarps Colour Studio
KCS is our harmonised range of materials that have been carefully tested to suit and meet the requirements of school environments. The majority of the fabrics bear the EU Ecolabel, which sets stringent requirements for the environment, function and quality, as well as OEKO-TEX® certification, which ensures that neither production nor materials contain chemicals that are harmful.
Ensuring that fabrics, other materials and colours harmonise with each other is crucial to create a well thought out, inviting and holistic whole. Our advisors will help you determine which colours and materials are best suited to different activities and spaces.
Holistic Ergonomics
There are many ergonomic factors that need to interact in a school environment to promote a security, focus on learning and a healthy place to work. Floor plans, furniture, acoustics, colours, lighting, and air quality, as well as organisational and social aspects, must all be taken into consideration. We have long and broad expertise in ergonomics and guide you to a wellfunctioning holistic solution. We also help you introduce and implement your interior design solutions, furniture functions and working methods to enable you to use your environments optimally.

We deliver and install completely according to drawing
Kinnarps has its own unique logistics and delivery system that enables efficient delivery and installation on your premises. Our own staff carry in the furniture, assemble and place it according to your drawing. Since we pack everything in reusable blankets, no single-use packaging will be left behind and your new learning spaces will be ready for use when we leave the premises. This also means that we save 270 kg of packaging per truck and can handle your delivery with two trucks instead of the industry average of three.
The analysis leads the way
Our Next Education® learning space analysis helps you gather valuable knowledge and data before designing your new learning spaces. Through various tools and workshops, staff and students are involved throughout the change journey. Your results are presented in a report including our recommendations for the physical environment. This is where you lay the foundation for how your learning spaces should be designed and furnished. The analysis provides you with data so that you can easily follow up on how your learning spaces are working from year to year.
