ORGANISERS’ VISION
ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE 2022 12th Regional Selection Conference of EYP Czech Republic
Dearest applicant,
Our names are Kateřina and Karel and we are the Head Organisers of the 12th Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ 2022, which will take place in the beautiful southern city of České Budějovice in December.
We recall our first time applying as Officials for an EYP conference and remember the stress of submitting the application and the nerves of awaiting the results of the selection panel. We did not know each other until applying as Organisers for the 10th Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ Třebíč 2021. Back then, when we first met at our first Organisers' Weekend, we immediately knew we would enjoy working with each other and would have a great working chemistry. Later on, after the end of the conference, we made the decision to apply together as the Head Organisers of one of the upcoming Regional Selection Conferences of EYP CZ. One thing led to another and here we are!
The motto
The motto of our Conference is ‘Shaping European identity from within’. It symbolizes our focus and theme, which is quite straightforward; should we want to make changes with a vision of a greater European Union, we must start from within, settle European identity, its priorities and attitudes towards the Member States and their citizens.
The idea came to us while discussing the utopic idea of how to make a better world to live in for all. On the contrary from the other Regional Selection Conference which focuses on European identity worldwide, we decided to rather discuss internal issues in order to ensure a better life for people who are the closest to us.
The Organisers
Our vision for the Organising Team is to put together a Czech group of ambitious, approachable, hard-working people who are willing to learn and grow within the EYP community. We are looking for someone transparent and communicative, someone who is not afraid to share their feelings, ideas and opinions.
As for our approach towards the Organisers, we strive to set a healthy balance between work, welfare and fun to ensure having a comfortable, yet productive working environment. We do not want you to feel like you have to work all the time. We could not stress this more, welfare and the mood of the Organisers is one of the most crucial aspects of the conference, so taking care of yourself is the key.
As you might already know, the Organising Team is the first to commence with the session preparations and the last to finish working. The main phase will officially take off at the first Organisers' Weekend, which will take place September 23-25. Later on, after approximately two months of work, the second Organisers' Weekend will take place November 18-20. The Organisers' Weekends are an essential fragment of the team's work, as they grant you a chance to bond with your team and gain much useful knowledge and experience to implement into your work, thus enabling you to take part in preparing a successful conference.
It is expected from the Organising Team to arrive in České Budějovice two days before the session begins for the Delegates. After the conference, a couple of minor tasks are left to fulfil and are followed by the Organising Team dissemination, which represents the official end of your duty as an Organiser.
We are fully aware of the fact that this might be your first experience applying for an Official position and that you might be nervous and confused. However, EYP sessions are a place for you to grow and learn alongside every other participant. Additionally, the Regional Selection Conferences are the ideal environment for your first Official experience. Our role, as the Head Organisers, is to walk you through every step of the preparations and teach you everything. Therefore, we are strongly encouraging you to apply no matter how much experience you might or might not have.
