ACADEMIC TEAM VISION
TŘEBÍČ 2021 10th Regional Selection Conference of EYP Czech Republic
10TH REGIONAL SELECTION CONFERENCE
To truly progress and improve in the future, we need to be self-aware of the past. By being aware of what we need to work on, we can take concrete actions to overcome it. Furthermore, it allows us to gain more knowledge and inspire others to develop more trusting and collaborative relationships. I strongly believe that EYP is a place where every individual has the opportunity to develop. The freedom of the session will allow participants to individually define and work on their objectives and interactions, providing the possibility to shape their development strategy, work on it and execute it. As the President of the Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ Třebíč 2021, I would like to give this opportunity to every participant of this session, whether being a Delegate, or an Editor. As we can only move into a healthier environment by using the knowledge we already possess, by developing together, and by supporting each other along the way, I believe this is the perfect place to experiment with our authentic initiatives, think outside of the box, accept and understand our diversities. With that being said, I want to encourage and give full freedom to the whole Academic Team to experiment with their approaches and methods, whether that would be not having the usual structure of the Topic Overviews or Resolution, switching some phases in the Committee Work or Team Building, having extraordinary activities, and working closely on projects with Media and Organising Team. That one may get the most out of the session and make one’s ideas come true by closely working with other teams. One of the main aspects I would like to emphasise before and during the session is inter-team collaboration within the whole Officials’ Team by working on many joint projects. It offers a better social and learning experience, ensuring that the participants will get the most out of the session as it would improve the current format of getting back to working together in person and creating stronger bonds within the Officials’ Team.
10TH REGIONAL SELECTION CONFERENCE
Furthermore, one of the core aspects of the Academic Team and the whole session will be participants’ welfare and happiness. The Officials’ Team will commit to ensuring that participants’ wellbeing is looked after, so everyone can support each other throughout the whole session. Our priority would be to ensure a marvelous atmosphere for both work and enjoyment, which would culminate in an inclusive environment for people to exchange knowledge and experiences. I believe this is the perfect place to educate and invite participants to think about the importance of sustainability in a broad sense and how they can start to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Throughout the digital era, we discovered many ways to be more sustainable. Participants will get a chance to implement these sustainable methods into Committee Work and Team Building, leaving the session mindful of being sustainable later on in life. My Presidency aims to challenge participants to think about their role in this society and how their behaviour impacts it. Someone once said that EYP does not change the world, but it changes the people that will later have a chance to do so. Self-awareness doesn’t stop us from making mistakes. It allows us to learn from them. With that being said, I would strongly encourage each one of you to never stop developing, support each other in doing so, create strong bonds with each other and positively contribute to society. Let’s make the future better together! I am looking forward to seeing your application! Milica <3
