JOURNALISTS' TRAINING 2016 EUROPEAN YOUTH PARLIAMENT FINLAND – EYP FINLAND RY Call for participants
Alex Coates (UK), trainer
Tom Cobbenhagen (NL), trainer
Dear reader, As Einstein once said "I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious." We want to train people to be inquisitive and question everything that they are learning as even we don't know all of the perfect methods. We hope that you come away with technical skills as well as an appetite to succeed in EYP Media. Best, Alex
“Pick up a camera. Shoot something. No matter how small, no matter how cheesy, no matter whether your friends and your sister star in it. Put your name on it as director. Now you’re a director.” By using this quote from James Cameron we want to echo his sentiments as being a good filmmaker is all about creativity and storytelling and we hope we can help you unleash your creativity during this training weekend. Best wishes, Tom
WELCOME TO JOURNALISTS' TRAINING
European Youth Parliament Finland will organise its traditional Journalists’ Training in Kuopio, Eastern Finland on 12.-14. August 2016. The training will gather some 20 participants and provide them with the essential skills and knowledge needed in press rooms at National, Regional and International Sessions. Topics include, but are not limited to, working practices of EYP media rooms, proper style, photography and filming. The training is primarily meant for alumni who have recently been delegates and now wish to move on in the EYP, and it will thus also cover the role of session officials more broadly. The working language of the training will be English. The training will be lead by Alex Coates (UK) and Tom Cobbenhagen (NL). Participants are asked to arrive in Kuopio by 4.30pm on Friday 12. August, and the training will end around 3pm on Sunday 14. August. Accommodation for extra nights before or after the training may be provided but is not guaranteed. The participation fee for the training is 25 EUR, and it covers programme, accommodation and food during the training.
The city of Kuopio can be easily reached by plane, train or bus directly from Helsinki. The bus companies arrange cheap deals, staring from 20 euros for a return ticket. We will be happy to assist the participants with their travel arrangements, if questions arise. Applicants are asked to submit the application form with the attached form by Sunday, July 17th. All applicants will be informed of the selection’s outcome by 19 July.
