Dear AFCO delegates, These past few days have been amazing and we just want you to know how proud we are of you, of how you handled every aspect, how nicely you were on time, the general teamspirit and how you pushed yourselves to the limit while enjoying every bit of the session. Even though the session is over, we hope that you look back to these 3 days with a smile. We hope that you have learned a lot from this session and that you all have grown as people. We really wish that this is going to be just the beginning of your EYP journey, but even if it’s not, we hope that this session provided you with several memories that will never fade away. Your Chairs, Ines & Mariann

The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs tackled the varying rates of youth unemployment in Europe this weekend. I was lucky enough to be their journalist and see them first form a tight bond with each other and make a brilliant team, but also witness them brainstorming and creating solutions to difficult and serious issues during the challenging committee work period. EMPL delegates truly engaged with their topic and came up with creative solutions to solve youth unemployment in Europe. This spread is dedicated to the lovely EMPL delegates. Your Journalist, Milla

Diversity, a word that sounds familiar to many of you, but do you really know what it means. The last years the word has gained popularity at an astonishing rate. This is because of a phenomenon better known as globalisation. We cannot step outside the door without being confronted with people of a different race, ethnicity and background than us. Likewise, not one person here, in Järvenpää, is the same. Everyone has their talents, background and story. EYP is about embracing these stories.

WHAT HAVE YOU GAINED FROM THIS SESION? “EYP really surprised me. I didn’t have any idea of what I was supposed to do during this weekend, I just came here open minded and it turned out to be really fun. I’ve really enjoyed the fact that you can express yourself freely, without being judged and this special atmosphere has motivated me to step out of my comfort zone.” -Sharon

“It’s hard to explain it word by word, it’s like you can feel that you are improving but you can’t exactly put into words what you have gained. Also, I think that what I’ve learnt is not only useful for debating but it also helps you to express your opinion.” -Paula
LIBE I BY BENEDETTA MINNITI (IT)
“Dear Mr. President, honourable But what if you never challenge yourself? Members of the Board, fellow delegates, What if you never push your limits? good morning.” Nothing will ever change. As you’re reading this sentence feelings of GA probably come up: trembling and sweaty hands, heart racing, shaking voice… You feel like you just want to run away and come back when it’s all finished (or never) and that’s all because of maths. This feeling you accomplish in the end is the result of all the emotional stages you’ve been through.
And that’s the moment when EYP steps in. EYP gives you the opportunity to do things you never thought you could do. Every EYP session you go to, you come back with more than you came with. Even if it’s just one thing, you always learn something, you always enrich yourself.
