The European Youth Parliament aims to improve Member Statesʼ cyber security and to safeguard its citizensʼ data protection rights. It further aims to bring awareness to cyberhygienetoensureindividualsʼ,companiesʼ,andgovernmentsʼ cybersecurityinanongoingdigitalrevolution, because
● Thehandlingofdatabylawenforcementinstitutionsmayinterferewith individualsʼrightstodataprivacy,whichareincludedintheCharterof FundamentalRightsoftheEuropeanUnion,
● Criticalinfrastructureisbecomingheavilydependentondigitalsystemsand thereforemorevulnerabletocyberthreats,
● MemberStates'capabilitiestopreventandcountercyberattackshavevastly unbalancedlevelsofeffectiveness,
● Thereisalackofsatisfactoryglobalcooperationregardingcybersecurity,
● ThestateofcyberawarenessandcyberhygieneamongstEUcitizensisnotata satisfactorylevel,
● Withtheexpansionoftechnologyineverydaylife,thereareanoticeable inequalitiesintheaccesstoandskillsregardingit,suchasdigitalliteracy;

1. UrgesMemberStatestoensurelawenforcementdoesnotviolateprivacyanddata retentionrightsinitsfightagainstcybercrimethroughyearlytrainings;
2. Calls upon the Directorate General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) to further support operators of critical infrastructures with their cybersecurity by proposinglegislationthatgivesthemaccesstomoreadvancedsecuritymeasures;
3 EncouragestheEuropeanCybersecurityCompetenceCentretocontinueitssupport forthedevelopmentofcyberspacecapabilitiesbasedontherequirementsofeach MemberState;
4. Encourages the DG HOME to ensure that the Joint Cyber Unit follows upontheir promiseofcoordinatinganEU wideresponsetocyberthreatsbyJune2023;
5. RequeststheEuropeanCommissiontoenablebettercooperationbetweenMember Statesinthefightagainstcybercrimebyenactingpoliciesthatmakethesharingof resourceswithinandoutsideoftheEUeasier;
6. Encourages the European Commissiontodevelopaneasilyaccessibledatabasein collaborationwithENISAtomakesurethatcompaniesandindividualshaveaccess totrustworthyinformationoncyberhygiene;
7. Calls upon the Directorate General for Communications to launch a media campaign about EU wide directives and rules regarding onlinebehaviourandthe consequences of breaking them to raise awareness amongst governments, businessesandcitizens;
8. Recommends Member StatestoincreasethelongtermcyberhygieneamongstEU citizens by including cybersecurity within school curriculaandensuringadequate accesstotechnologicalequipmentinschoolsthroughouttheunion.

4) Despite existing measures in place, biodiversity loss has accelerated to an unprecedentedlevelinEuropewith1677speciesindangerofextinction,

3. Reminds Member States to exchange good practices on the management of protectedareasthroughtheEUROPARCFederation15;
