Waterway to the world July 12, 1920 The Panama Canal opened its water way, cutting through one of narrowest parts of the isthmus that joins North and South America. It was built under orders of the United States of America and it connects the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean serving as a route facilitating long distance trade and commerce.
Out of Many, One People July 13, 1962 The Coat of Arms of Jamaica was modified on this day in our year of independence to show the banner, on which the Taino man and woman stands, saying “Out of Many, One People”. It was changed from “INDVS VTERQVE SERVIET VNI” which literally meant “The two Indians will serve as one”.
Bastille Day July 14, 1789 Parisian revolutionaries stormed and dismantled the Bastille, a fortress signifying the tyranny of the ruling monarchs, on July 14, 1789. This triggered the beginning of the French Revolution in which King Louis XVI was overthrown.
Name:
Kim Nain
Kim NAIN
Game:
Law Student, I also own a booking agency for just disc jocks at the moment and I’m well known as a singer and songwriter.
Describe your usual weekend in three words?
Relaxing, Interesting, Spontaneous
When and how did you become known as Kim Nain the artiste?
About 5 or 6 years ago. I’d say from I dropped “Angel” produced by Delroy Pottinger which was the first track I ever wrote and recorded; the first time I had ever even been in a studio. However the majority knew me when I dropped “Ghost” produced by U.I.M Records then even more when “L.O.V.E” was released, produced by Riva Nile Productions. I found my true sound sometime during my recordings with Dale Virgo’s Dzl Records at Geejam, thereafter “Moved On” was released.
What does work on the wknd mean for you?
It just means, “I better be getting paid for this” to me lol. However if work is music-related, writing a song or recording one for instance, it’s not work at that point because that’s something I genuinely enjoy doing.
What are some of your upcoming projects?
I have a number of records coming out through Jus Eazy Productions, WaggyRas Records. Also videos to come for my track “Moved On”, Rebel and the new track to be released through WaggyRas Records.
If science somehow made weekends extinct, what would you miss most about them?
If science were to rule out weekends, my sanity would go along with it. So my sanity.

Blue Cheese and Grilled Corn ingredients
recipe
Rolls 1 package tempeh or tofu cut into long strips 2 garlic cloves, finely minced 2tbsp sesame oil 1tsp sriracha/hot pepper sauce 1 cucumber, julienned 1 cup lettuce leaves, washed and cut in halves 1 large carrot, julienned ½ red bell pepper, julienned
1tsp rice vinegar 8 trice papers Water Peanut dipping sauce 2tbsp creamy peanut butter 2tbsp coconut milk 1tbsp sesame oil 1tbsp soy sauce
MethOd 1. In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, one tablespoon of sesame oil and sriracha. Stir to combine. 2. Coat the tofu strips with the sauce and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. 3. When the tofu is finished marinating, heat remaining tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add tofu and cook for three minutes without moving. Turn and cook the other side for another three minutes without disturbing. Remove from heat. 4. Fill a shallow bowl with lukewarm water. Place one rice paper in the bowl and soak for 30 to 60 seconds. Carefullytransfer the rice paper to a cutting board or large plate. 5. Add lettuce and other vegetables. Lightly sprinkle rice vinegar over the vegetables. 6. Top with cooked tofu. 7. Carefully lift the sides of the rice paper and fold it over the ends. Rice paper is very delicate and may stick to your plate. Moving slowly will help with the rolling process. 8. Lift the top of the rice paper and roll it over the f illing, tucking in the sides as you go. Roll as tightly as possible without ripping the paper. 9. Now refrigerate. 10. For dressing: Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk until combined. Prepared by Christian Sweeney of Fuzion Foodservice and Epic Eats
